"I stayed here for one night in the basic room. I have previously lived in York and can say that the location is excellent. Near lots of the major nightlife spots in York and a 10/15 minute walk to the minster. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The hotel itself is a little outdated. We were on floor 2 and the lift was very jittery and slow. The room was spacious and had a coffee machine and clean towels. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were very flat, but as we only stayed for one night it didn’t bother us too much. Be wary that you may also get a lot of street noise dependent on the night as the windows aren’t particularly soundproof and neither were the walls of the hotel. Overall, for a night, the hotel was practical and clean and we had a fantastic buffet breakfast in the morning. I would recommend for a short stay."

"Hotel very clean, staff friendly. Check in slow as only one staff member on duty. Tiny pool, more of a plunge pool, busy. Excellent location, out of the city centre hustle. Great bus service into city. Lovely cafe across the road. Easy access for race course. Pricey but would stay again if cost was reasonable. Beer and larger cloudy in bar!"

"Lovely room. Temperature just right. Bedding appropriate. Clean, spacious hotel with the added bonus of a pool! (Don’t forget to book your time though!) Five minute walk to York Castle Museum and not too much more to town centre. Highly recommend!"

"We stopped in room 52 at night after walking along the walk way to the room nearly tripped a few times on the step to the front door even though it was a small step very hard to see at night. Room was very clean. The heating in the room was on all night, the room was too hot to sleep. Bar & reception staff excellent . We thought the breakfast was very poor, it was advertised as a buffet breakfast and was a fixed breakfast so not what we were expecting, they missed the toast & mushrooms off my breakfast. Coffee was warm , milk was very cold making the coffee even colder. Breakfast was all hot. Location was brilliant just around corner from all attractions. We would recommend people to stop but just not eat there very over priced food . Parking is cheap in comparison. Over all good just expensive for what we got. You did ask for a review."

"The welcome was good. Booked parking and was told which bay was ours for the night. Executive room was huge, needing updating but clean. Bed was super hard pillows thin so didn't sleep too well. Informed the receptionist on check out but she only wished us a safe journey home. No mention of the poor sleep. The executive breakfast was superb, a mixture of continental and cooked. The gentleman looking after us really lovely and efficient, thank you. Can't comment on the bar as we didn't use it, but 2 coach parties were making use of itm "
