Would have given them at least 4 stars overall but my 15 nights stay was somewhat miserable. Myanmar gets very hot and humid most times. During my stay the building AC was not working pretty much throughout my stay. Walked in and it felt like it was steaming hot. Good thing my room had backup AC unit but that barely cool the room. Laundry was ridiculously priced for a piece of clothing like pant or shirt it was $2-3 which is absurd. However, front desk customer service was pleasant. Until the building AC unit is fixed, I do not recommend.
The photos, star rating, and description of this property as a luxury hotel on Expedia are very misleading. Perhaps this hotel was nice 40 years ago, but it certainly does not meet the advertised standard.
I left after spending only 1.5 hours at the hotel, and unfortunately, no refund was issued.
As soon as you enter, you notice a strong smell of dampness. We were given a room on the sixth floor, and as soon as we stepped out of the elevator, there was a strong smell of beer coming from the carpet.
The rooms are extremely outdated, and almost everything is worn out and in poor condition. Even the information binders looked as though they had not been updated in at least 15 years. The one positive thing was that the bathroom and shower were nice.
The swimming pool area was also disappointing, with a strong garbage-like smell in the air, possibly coming from nearby waste containers. The poolside bar looked like a couple of cupboards with empty plastic bottles on the shelves, hardly inspiring confidence in the drinks or service.
In my opinion, this hotel deserves no more than two stars and is nowhere near the luxury standard advertised on Expedia. The pictures and description create expectations that the actual property simply fails to meet. Sadly, I did not take any photos, but based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.
Great place to stay, the staff are five star, I had an issue and the front desk ladies jumped on it and fixed it right away even though it had nothing to do with the hotel. All staff are friendly. The food in the restaurants was good. Restaurant staff just great. The location for me was perfect, walk out front, get a cab and be anywhere quickly.
The hotel was a nice place to stay. Was only there for 3 days. Burmese breakfast was delicious. The hotel felt like a bit city hotel. Staff were friendlym
This hotel is no joke. As two young backpackers, we felt very out of place when we walked into the lobby (in a good way, it was very grand and beautiful)! The staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The hotel is huge; it even hosts conferences. Our room was fantastic, great shower, beautiful views. The pool is one of the highlights of this hotel. It was the perfect temperature, large, with lots of chairs to read and sunbathe on. We spend alot of time relaxing here! The breakfast buffet is the other highlight. It's a full on restaurant, with everything you could ever want for breakfast. The location is very nice because it's walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda as well as downtown (trust me, you don't want to take cabs in Yangon, the traffic is horrific). A great way to end our three week trip!
Very nice hotel with beautiful lobby and beautiful areas to sit and relax. All the staff is extremely friendly. I received a warm welcome and a fruit basket and small flower-arrangement had been delivered to my room. Had a view to Shwedagon Pagoda, just amazing. Wonderful breakfast-buffet with great choice and attentive service. Concierge is very helpful with giving directions. Would definitely stay there again!
Séjour exceptionnel avec un personnel souriant et au petit soin. L hôtel est proche des principaux sites et proche de la ville. Très bon restaurant en face de l’hôtel. Chambre spacieuse et propre.
This hotel is simply amazing. Excellent service, spacious and clean rooms, attention to detail second to none, and a great location in central Yangon. I would definately recommend this Hotel to anyone.
