"The cottage was part of a large former hotel and it has been converted very sympathetically. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable - we had a lot of space for the two of us (and the dog!) One of my favourite things was the picture window in the lounge, with beautiful views across the countryside down to the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet. We did have a couple of issues with the boiler going off and the kettle not working but these were dealt with quickly....

The layout is great and our toddler enjoyed playing in the large lounge and dining area where we could keep an eye on her through the glass windows in the downstairs doors. We appreciated the books for babies and young children and lake district guides for adults. The welcome goodies were a nice touch. "Stayed for 2 nights in Shelley Cottage. Great location and Keswick is my favourite place in the lakes. We had great weather and the garden was lovely with the summer house that is a real sun trap. Views from the Cottage are stunning."
