"Room was clean and tidy, however the air conditioning is slightly faulty so the room does get very warm and sticky. Receptiotion staff were lovely and very helpful with trying to resolve the issue and even gave us a fan to cool the room down."

George Hotel Hayfield

George Hotel Hayfield

10/10 Excellent
"The George was a great place for us to use as a base for our two night stay whilst visiting local places. Easy to find and plenty of room in the car park. Great location in Hayfield with lots to do from the doorstep on foot. The staff gave us a warm welcome when we arrived in the evening, quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. The room was good value, a good size and had everything we needed, including a fan. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was lovely. We had already made other arrangements for our dinner on the second night but returned for drinks in the bar afterwards. On both evenings, the couple working behind the bar were friendly. We would definitely return and will recommend to friends wanting to stay in the area."

Buxton Crescent

Buxton Crescent

8/10 Good
"The hotel is ideally located to enjoy the best of Buxton. It is beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Staff were helpful and polite. My only disappointment was the breakfast service and in all truth this was completely unacceptable. It was apparent that the kitchen and service was heavily understaffed, which impacted upon the cleanliness, insufficient stocks on the buffet service and delays serving food. Most people had a 45min delay for hot breakfast, and this resulted in us and a number of other guests requesting refunds. The serving staff were very apologetic and just looked worn out and embarrassed."
