The best thing about this place is the staff— all are very friendly and eager to assist. I like that this place has an actual restaurant on site for actual meals from breakfast to dinner. It’s a short walk to most things.
Cute boutique hotel in Merida.
Pros: clean, shower with hot water (although limited), AC, comfy bed and quiet neighborhood, double sink/mirrors, parking right in front of hotel, staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions, nearby Mercado Santiago, reliable WiFi
Cons: Johannes bar &restaurant, food and drinks were just okay.
I would definitely stay here again, just eat and drink out.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Our stay was phenomenal.
The staff was extraordinarily helpful, friendly, and informative. The on-site restaurant serves fantastic food and drinks. And the owners were extremely friendly, and available to answer any questions thay we had about the neighborhood and Merida as a whole.
We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay at Merida Santiago Hotel Boutique. The staff are amazing, the room is immaculate, the restaurant serves delicious food, and the vibe is welcoming and laid back. We liked the location- away from the center but within walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay here again!
Good location an easy flat walk to the main part of town.
Breakfast was good and the lunch and dinner options were delicious. A few nice places to eat close by too. The staff were very helpful especially Daniel who has excellent English skills. The cooking class was also entertaining.
The Boutique Hotel Santiago is amazing. Everyone is always so welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect! Very clean and well supplied with more than we could ask for. We will be back for another stay and for many future meals at their Johannes Restaurant.
This property is a true gem. It was like a hidden oasis with incredible food. The owner and staff were magnificent. We stayed for 4 nights while visiting our son and could not have felt more rejuvenated and relaxed.
Very helpful staff that put in extra effort to make the stay smooth. Comfy bed. Parking was right in front of the building, which was super convenient. The toilet had some problems at first, but once I informed hotel staff, they fixed it promptly. Only slight downside was the shower. There wasn’t as much hot water as I’m accustomed to, and at one point even the cold water ran out right in the middle of showering. So had to stay soapy for about 10 mins until water came back. Luckily didn’t miss any plans because of it. Also the fridge was located in the bathroom, which I found awkward to use. Overall though, good place. Would consider staying there again.
Stayed 3 nights in Jul 2026

The check-in was smooth. They reached out to us earlier asking when we would arrive. The room is very nice. We had tacos and empanadas by the pool at the on-site restaurant. Service and food are excellent.
This boutique hotel wasn’t our plan, but fortunately was just around the corner from the VRBO property we had booked and which turned out to not to be habitable because of some technical problems.
The owners were very nice and very helpful to us during the four days we stayed there. The restaurant was excellent and the margarita they made was the best one I had in Mexico.
From this location we were pleased to find eminently walkable streets and lots of dining and shopping options. It was quite close to the zoo as well (an amazing zoo, by the way).
If like me you vacation at a hotel for a nice room to sleep in but not to spend your whole time there and thus requiring a lot of amenities and luxury, then this place is quite nice. The kitchen and hotel staff are excellent, friendly and anxious to please. Food fantastic for a small hotel. Peaceful locale and walk to points of interest. The only improvement would be hot water instead of luke warm (but the Merida heat makes it tolerable) and better toilet flushing (both of which are not uncommon). Great value for the money. I spent 5 nights. Give them a try!
The room was enormous! super well equipped!! The staff was lovely and helpful!! Location super! Honestly will for sure return! Thank you for making our honeymoon memorable 🤗
Great service and the room was absolutely as advertised. Wish we had more time to spend there. Staff was great and suffered through our poor Spanish. 😳
Marisol was very helpful!!
Very quiet location with a 10 minute walk to restaurants and bars. Alternatively UBER is always within 5 minutes. We parked our car directly outside in a reserved space. Market, supermarkets and ATM just around the corner. Really enjoyed our 4 nights there
We stayed four nights in this beautifully designed 7 room boutique hotel in the historic district of Mérida. Our room was large and bright, with high ceilings, and had a very private terrace with table and chairs. The bathroom was large and had good lighting. There is a small restaurant and bar with a good variety of menu items and reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and presented beautifully. We enjoyed talking with the owner of the hotel, who is a wealth of information about Mérida and Mexico in general and provided lots of tips about the area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful; they booked a tour for us to Celestún which picked us up at the door. The hotel is a short walk from the main historic area of the city. We highly recommend this hotel!
This place made our stay in Merida the best ever! We had a room with a private patio that was superb. It was spacious, the cleanliness was unparalleled, the room had everything you could need-fresh towels and room service every day, tv, blanket, toiletries, coffee AND homemade complimentary cookies! The staff and owners are AMAZING! They will be sure you have the best experience. We had breakfast, dinner and drinks at the restaurant downstairs EVERY night and the food WILL NOT disappoint! OMG! Every meal was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! There is a pool, cooking classes, tequila tasting and a garden! It is truly an oasis in the city and I will definitely stay here again when I am in Merida. It would be a pleasure.
