Dinette who is the Marina Manager is the top star associated with Fairfield Inn and Suites at Marathon. We visited her several times to gather information so we could enjoy our vacation as much as possible. She personally made phone calls to other vendors to confirm details on our behalf. She made recommendations for restaurants, coffee, and general shopping. She attempted to help us reserve a parasailing trip outside of Key West (more locally). The owner of Z’s Parasailing, located right at the property, was otherwise committed until after the end of our trip. Dinette helped him understand how much we had been valuing this activity. Captain Howard instead offered us a different water activity that turned out to be just as spectacular. He did this completely out of the goodness of his heart. Please pay his interest in ensuring the resort guests had a wonderful experience forward by giving him more business than he could dream of. Stay local, support this small business, support honestly good people. Dinette didn’t have to expend an ounce of energy toward us beyond communicating that the marina couldn’t help at that very specific time. Howard didn’t have to problem-solve an alternative solution to our parasailing request. Dinette didn’t have to engage the many other visitors to the store like I heard her doing so during our time. Fairfield Inn and Suites have two superb stewards of a customer service orientation. How fortunate for Fairfield, us, and for you.

I honestly would not stay here again. We had some cleanliness issues in the room that I ended up cleaning myself because the hotel was completely full and there was nowhere else nearby to move to without paying outrageous prices. The staff also seemed either rude or overwhelmed. During a very bad storm, the power went out and guests were told to stay in their rooms. What really bothered me was staff blocking exits and telling people they could not leave. We made it clear that if we chose to leave, we would. There was also a lot of water coming into the building, including from the ceiling near one of the back doors and through the main entrance. I understand they cannot control the weather, but between the cleanliness issues and how the situation was handled, I would not return.

Don’t let the outside fool you. When you first pull up it doesn’t look like anything crazy, but once you walk inside it’s a completely different story. Really nice setup, clean, comfortable and honestly much nicer than I expected. Now the breakfast 😂 I have stayed at plenty of hotels and most hotel breakfasts are just something you eat because it’s free. Not here. The breakfast was actually really good. Great variety, everything tasted fresh and the service was outstanding. Definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The room was excellent and unbelievably quiet. You literally can’t hear anything from outside. The bed was super comfortable and fluffy and even the pillows were great. I slept like a baby. I also have to give some love to the shower 😂 Sounds stupid but it was amazing. You turn it hot, it gets hot. You turn it cold, it gets cold. Right away. No standing there for 5 minutes messing with the damn thing trying to find the right temperature lol. Really pleased with this hotel. Great service, great breakfast, comfortable room and most importantly QUIET. I come down to the Keys for work and next time I’m here I’ll definitely be staying here again. They got me 👍

The property was meticulously clean. The staff was more than helpful if you needed something everyone was very kind. The only thing I object is the parking fee of $20 a day. I don’t see why we should pay $20 a day on their property when we’re staying there other than that, everything was fine. The buffet breakfast was really good. The food was hot and clean. The place was clean and my service dog was safe there if I had to leave them for a little while to do something, I wasn’t worried about it. I’m Social Security. It was very tight. I stayed there many times before I never had a problem.
