"The place was very clean, but there were these awful throw covers on the couches. They were badly worn and we were afraid to look under and see what they covered. The furniture was also very uncomfortable. These units are also very close together, so you have to pull all of the drapes for privacy. No outdoor furniture on the patio. Glad we only stayed one night. "

"We had a ‘cube’… The rooms were so dirty, the sheets clearly were not washed and had stains on. There were dead bugs everywhere, a dead mosquito and moth fell onto the bottom bunk as I was lying down. As you drive in it looks run down from old/abandoned caravans. One block of bathrooms were dirty, flies everywhere with toilet roll just on the floor no stand for it…"

"The view of lake Tekapo was spectacular. It was conveniently located to the stores for food and gift shopping. Restaurants were also nearby. We stayed in the 2 bedroom accommodations and there was plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked giving the opportunity for a home cooked meal. Washer and dryer facility was an added convenience."

"A great place place with efficiencies for an overnight stay. The place was clean, the kitchen enough for breakfast and milk enough for instant coffee and cereal. The area is quiet and off the main road for a good night’s sleep. Had a hearty meal at the Glider Cafe."

"Haka House was a great hostel to stay at. It was very clean and the kitchen area was large with lots of storage area for non fridge food. The views were amazing ... You look straight onto Lake Tekapo. The room had nice privacy curtains and a large storage spot where you can lock up your belongings. The hostel is in a central location so you can walk to restaurants and shops easily. And there's a large parking lot not too far away to park if you don't get a spot right in front."

"Ideal location, pleasant staff, but the room floor was not clean (dropped something upon arrival and quickly found 4 long hairs in the carpet looking for my item, did they vacuum?), and shower was inconsistent, every 30 seconds or so water stopped. Seems like needs an upgrade, overpriced for what it is. "
