Very friendly and helpful staff, pool is nice and room was clean and comfortable. The area is quite loud at night with the live music bars and the prayer call 5 times a day but everything else is great

This hotel is excellent. The staff are welcoming and attentive, rooms are extremely clean and I loved the pool- which is super clean and attractive. The breakfast is good, particularly the omelettes. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our group of 7 has an excellent stay in the Yeng Keng Suite and 3 courtyard rooms. Such pleasant staff who were helpful throughout. Quick turnaround room servicing, lovely linen and spotlessly clean. Great breakfasts and made for the perfect stay. Ideal location for exploring Georgetown.

Everyone who works in that hotel, from the reception to the kitchen and housekeeping is super nice! The rooms were very comfy and clean. The hotel is easy walking distance from the main sights in George Town and they are helpful getting you reliable taxis to go anywhere outside of town. The property has a lot of character, which I appreciated. Highly recommended!

We loved staying here. The whole experience from Check in to check out was amazing. The old world charms was perfect. Very comfortable accommodation close to great spots to eat and drink. Would happily stay there again if we return to Georgetown.

This is a lovely heritage-style hotel in the middle of Chulia St. While it's close to all the action, it's also an oasis of calm inside. The pool is small but nice to have (and rare for a heritage hotel). We spent three nights here and on arrival were told that the original room we were booked had been overbooked, but comms via Expedia hadn't come through in advance, so we were downgraded to a Courtyard room, which turned out to be slightly bigger and more comfortable than expected from other reviews. As compensation we were offered the final night in the suite, which was absolutely lovely - I could easily have spent a week in there! Staff were incredibly nice, thoughtful, helpful and kind. Breakfast was so-so - while the buffet was not the most appealing, there were also omelettes made to order, and you're not short of every kind of food option around the neighbourhood anyway.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Very walkable area, restaurants and bars are very close. Loved the rooftop bar across the road. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the pool was lovely and refreshing. Such a historical, classic hotel.

A gem of a hotel

We had the most amazing stay in Penang. The hotel is very well situated so close to everything we wanted to do and see. The pool was especially welcoming after being out and about! Couldn’t fault the staff - they were ALL fantastic.
