"The staff was very responsive and friendly! We would have enjoyed having a smart t.v. so we could have streamed shows or movies. Bigger, fluffier towels would be nice."

"I was expecting a little higher quality stay here. The bed was pretty comfy and nice clean bathroom. The staff was so friendly and helpful when there was an issue. Only thing is the elevator for the far rooms had me questioning getting on it. Felt a little unsteady, and also the room they gave me had the smell of mold in it. I turned the AC off which helped slightly, but even the day after it still had that lingering smell. Not too bad though. "

"I was very disappointed with my stay at the Congress Hotel. The room was in clear need of maintenance and updating. There were cracked tiles and damaged drywall, and the overall condition felt worn and neglected. The heating and air conditioning unit did not function properly, which made the room uncomfortable. The blanket provided had visible holes, and there were noticeable gaps under the door, allowing noise and light from the hallway to come through easily. Soundproofing between rooms was also extremely poor—it often sounded like neighboring guests were in the same room. Additionally, the space appears to have gone decades without meaningful updates, with heavy layers of old paint and an overall dated appearance. Unfortunately, the condition of the room significantly impacted the quality of my stay."

"I was put off by the fact that they take a $100 security deposit and then refund part of that back as not one but two $16 gift cards for the on premises bistro. I would have rather just get the whole security deposit back at the end of the stay."

"We had a connection cancelled due to severe weather and got stranded in Chicago late in the evening. I booked this hotel on Hotels.com thinking it had an airport shuttle. It did not. When we arrived, the line to checkin was nearly out the door with one young girl working the desk and clearly using her phone to FaceTime someone who was guiding her through every step, every click of the mouse, etc. She was not trained and should not have been there alone. As a result, we stood in line for well over an hour to get checked in and didn't get to sleep until around 2am. This turned a miserable day into two miserable days."
