"Rooms was really nice and the restaurant garden was very good. Gym and pool facilities were great."

"We stayed for one night while on a motorcycle tour and decided to stay here as it had parking for the bikes. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. Breakfast seemed a little on the small side for variety but it was self service so you can go back up for more. The hotel was around a 40 minute walk into town but there's a bus stop outside that you can get."

"Parking was good, check in was fine, room was clean, good size room we were in a accessible room, plenty of lights in room but did not have one on ceiling which would have helped when doing hair and makeup, good size tv, room warm good heater. Bathroom great size has shower and two sinks. Breakfast good and we had a evening meal at Hotel it was good had steak and ale pie. Have stayed at Hotel.before and will stay again. "Breakfast very good but second day was a bit tepid Curtains were moth eaten and cobwebs on curtains and ceiling. No bin liners in any of the bins Bar prices are expensive Staff are very attentive "

"I honestly wasn't expecting such a lovely hotel. Our Air BnB fell through (no heat nor hot water), and I was able to snag a solo room last-minute. Room, staff, dinner, and breakfast were all lovely. Even though a wedding was going on in one of the function rooms, the staff kept churning out superior service. Such a gem. Highly recommend!"

"We first visited the Salutation Hotel 29 years ago as a wedding venue and it was a premium location then. Getting the opportunity to stay there again now, we were excited to see it again. Unfortunately, it isn’t what it once was, although it was eerily familiar as little has been done to maintain or upgrade it over that time it seemed. However, there were redeeming features apart from the trip down memory lane. These included a very good hot breakfast, with an excellent manager (female) running the process, a reasonably well stocked bar with hotel prices although not too exorbitant. Easy check in and out, and finally a good location. Let down by overall condition of the hotel, especially what was supposed to be a superior twin room. "
