"We were very disappointed with our stay. When we arrived, it was immediately obvious that the room had not been cleaned properly. The carpet was visibly dirty, the bathroom was covered in dust, and the overall condition of the room felt tired and neglected. The inside of the hotel looked very dated, like an old Travelodge that had not been properly maintained in years.
The bedding was also in poor condition, with a hole in it, which is not what you expect when paying for a room. We had booked the room for four people, but when we arrived late in the evening after a long day out, the extra bed had not even been made up for us. It was a sofa bed, and we were left to sort it out and make it ourselves, which was very frustrating at that time of night.
The bathroom was especially unpleasant. There was a brown substance caked onto the inside of the bath which looked like it could and should have been cleaned off. Instead, it had been left there alongside a soaking wet towel. This made the whole bathroom feel unhygienic and as though it had been ignored by housekeeping.
There were also signs of poor upkeep throughout the property. There was glass all over the car park, which did not feel safe, and inside the room there was a picture on the wall that appeared to have been placed there simply to cover something up, which added to the shabby feel of the place.
The staff were not welcoming on arrival and seemed uninterested, almost as though our arrival was an inconvenience. We were"
