"The room was very clean and the grounds were stunning. The old colonial style in the bar and restaurant with all of the history attached to it are characterful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms are a little tired in places but that does not detract from the ambiance. "

"We pitched up at a closed down hotel after a gruelling mountainbike race in 38 degrees celsius!! The Wartburg hotel has been closed since Nov 2019! We booked this last week and money was taken from my credit card. Luckily we found alternative accomodation 40km further. We would like our money back. "

"What a stunning location, and a great friendly lodge with excellent food and ambience. Ron was a really great guide to Spion Kop, and also an excellent host at dinner etc.
