Someone else was checked into our room so the contactless check in wasn’t working. Luckily we could ask someone as the bar was open, however we were greeted by a very frustrated staff member before the manager came to assist who said this happened all the time. The room he gave us instead was dirty, outdated, everywhere smelled fusty and of cigarettes. The loud pub and restaurant came with a strong cannabis smell which was horrendous whenever we went on the balcony so went straight out and stayed out. The location was okay, close to shops and a few restaurants, woolies etc. We were most disappointed by the service and treatment by the staff. I waited for 15 minutes in the bar while multiple members of staff made eye contact with me and carried on talking to each other. I asked for a refund when they said our room wasn’t available as we were travelling with a toddler, had already been trying to check in and find a member of staff to help for 40 minutes and I could see the facilities, play area and actual hotel had not updated their pictures in a long time, as well as us not having the room set up we’d requested. The manager did bring up an additional bed but it was very tight in there. It was dirty, run down with staff (mostly) that didn’t want to do anything to assist and seemed frustrated by the fact they had to. Not worth the money we paid at all and will not be recommending nor staying again.
