Super place to stop, we arrived later than expected and had planned to go for dinner in Amboise. However we ate in the hotel’s Italian restaurant, it was very well priced and lovely food, a bonus.

Unfortunately, my stay at ibis Amboise was disappointing. The room had an unpleasant smell and was very dark, which made it feel uncomfortable. The toilet also had a serious flushing issue. The flush did not work properly and required pushing the button extremely hard, and even then it sometimes would not flush at all. I raised this with management, but the only response I received was to “push hard.” This was not an acceptable solution to a basic maintenance problem. I also found the hotel description and name misleading regarding the location. Despite being called ibis Amboise, the hotel is a considerable distance from the old town/centre of Amboise. It does not feel like an Amboise-centre location at all, and geographically it appears to be outside Amboise itself—we even passed a road sign showing that we had left Amboise. Overall, the combination of the unpleasant room, faulty toilet, unhelpful response from management, and misleading impression of the location made this a disappointing stay. I would strongly recommend checking the exact location before booking.

Don’t stay here if you don’t have transportation

The place is in the middle of nowhere and without having to rent a car or have a mode of transportation you are stuck in the middle of a field,

Hotel tres bien situé sur les hauteurs d'Ambroise. A 3km du centre ville. Les chambres sont plutôt grande et bien agencées. Le petit-déjeuner est très bon et varié. Le personnel est tres gentil et très serviable. Mention spéciale a "Pia".

Très bel environnement, parc arboré. Hôtel silencieux, très bonne literie. Un petit soucis de chauffage, il faisait plutôt frais dans la chambre et salle de bain malgré la mise en route dans la chambre de la climatisation réversible. Dommage.
