Really great hotel and we had a wonderful stay. Lovely rooms, great spa place to really unwind. Our only (small) gripe was the music around the pool and at breakfast pipped through the speaker system. It was slightly too loud to be ignored and seemed unnecessary and added nothing to the ambience of the area. Would prefer that they had nothing or at least turned it down so it was a background "hum"

We booked a river villa and it was an absolutely incredible space - so serene and relaxing, with beautiful stylish furniture, nice amenities and lighting. All the staff were absolutely incredible to us - kind, positive, helpful. It was one of the best five star hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

We stayed in a lagoon villa which was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Huge bed, we slept so well! Plenty of towels provided for both indoor and pool use. We booked a massage at the Serenity Spa and that was wonderfully relaxing. Everything at Royal River is tastefully decorated, super clean and immaculately done. The pictures are genuinely how it looks when you're there, we know as we tried out all the pools, both rivers and the jacuzzi. Don't miss breakfast, it's amazing! Make sure you have dinner at The Top at least once, some dishes are prepared at the table which is fun, and the views from up there are stunning. Royal River is in a very peaceful location so a bit of a walk down to La Caleta or into del Duque, but taxis are readily available if you prefer. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff and the way they really take care of you - right from arrival & welcome drinks to bidding them a sad farewell at the end of your stay. Special thanks to Manuel for putting up with our Spanish and being such fun to talk to. Also to Nancy for her warmth, her smile & looking after us at breakfast each day.

Beautiful, Peaceful Resort

The most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing resort. The staff were amazing and nothing was ever too much trouble. The Spa is delightful and the food was excellent. The best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying in, we will definitely be back.

Spacious, comfortable villa. Friendly staff. Secluded/private villa. Good breakfast. Quite far from anything, so you ideally need a car or use taxis. Even the nearest beach is a 30 min walk down a steep hill (and a 40 mins walk back up a steep hill!). Good parking though. Overall, very nice.

Fantastic hotel and team

Exceptional from start to end. The hotel itself is stunning, has a real feel of luxury yet in a very relaxing and chilled out setting. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming and the villas are beautifully furnished and a great size. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

Royal River is a real treat. Beautiful villas and excellent service from all the staff. Very private. La Caleta is (steep) downhill walk to additional restaurants. Taxis are fairly easy to come by for your return if you don’t fancy the walk back (approx€5)

This could easily be the nicest hotel I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. We stayed in their sister hotel, Royal Gardens, two years ago and were allowed to use the facilities here. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to come back and stay, and it didn’t disappoint. The whole ambience is the biggest selling point, so peaceful and green with incredible facilities. The river villas with swim up private pool are excellent. Staff were very friendly, great food options and plenty of space around the two pools so it never feels crowded

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and I couldn't have made a better choice to surprise her with. From the service, far, above and beyond my expectations to the sheer beauty of the hotel itself, the unique setup of the villa's which are perfectly adorned and decorated very romantically, the private pool that connects to the river is so unique and it was one of our favourite parts. The restaurants and the food in general was incredible, very high-end and LUXURIOUS, that was the overall feeling. The value of the entire stay was once again above and beyond what I had ever expected. The hotel is also perfectly located, close to all of the major attractions but secluded enough to feel exclusive. Can't thank the staff enough for making our stay feel special.
