The rooms are very simple and a bit small, but everything was very clean and the location is amazing if you want to walk the Broadway strip in the evening without worrying about driving. This was our first time staying in the downtown area instead of going with a larger resort. We were amazed at how much more relaxing the experience was. Will definitely return again.

Very clean!

We just had a quick stay. We wanted an outside pool and this hotel had good reviews. Reviews were right in. The room and hotel was very clean just a bit outdated. The staff were very helpful as well. The room was overpriced but the Dells in the summer is expensive and busy. Overall happy with our stay. It’s also walkable to a lot of things to do and places to eat.

It's an older motel but it is well Maintenance Every morning they were checking the pool. I am cleaning It Property was clean, just crossed the street and the main strip is right there.

Althought one of many old motels on or close to Broadway St. close to the attractions, this place was exceptionally clean and fresh smelling. The bed was firm and comfortable. The pool was very clean as well. You can tell it's an old place as the deep end is nine feet deep. However, there is a floating rope separating the shallow end from the deep end. The caretaker was friendly and helpful. She adjusted check-out time to better suit our needs. At the rates they charge, especially this place is a winning choice.

I always stay here when we visit in the summer. This was my first time visiting in the winter. There was one other party here besides me so it was very quiet (even being right next to the office) My only concern, it was REALLY warm in that room and I had no idea how to turn it down? But I`d rather be warm in the winter!!

This was our second weekend getaway staying at Colonial. The price is great considering where the motel is located but it’s a clearly a vintage property dating back to the early days of the Dells. The beds are a tad stiff and the fixtures around the rooms are aging with deterioration of the little things noticeable. However, the newer A/C units and mini-fridges are both fully functional and quite effective. Bonus is the outdoor pool staying open until 10pm.

Cheap, clean, safe room to share.

Very clean. Older hotel and hasn't been updated or modernized. Smaller room, tiny bathroom with shower only and not a great water head. Room had a tv and mini fridge. Staff was very friendly and let us check in hours early. Nothing was fancy, but it was $65 total for a Saturday night. Two queen beds. I was amazed how clean and upkept it was for an older motel. If your looking for a room to sleep in with no frills that is on the shopping/bar district of the dells I highly recommend. It was off season, and felt like a safe place. Great room to share with another adult, and can't beat the price. They did have a outdoor pool for kids in the front that was closed due to the time of year
