Stayed at The Menzel for 3 nights in total — one night in the basic room and two nights in the Garden Private Plunge Pool room. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We were given vouchers for lunch, wine, and dinner, and since we were hungry after arriving, we decided to eat there that evening. I had the crispy duck and honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve had.
We also received some lovely welcome treats, which was a really nice touch. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had little to no pests during our stay. The private plunge pool was definitely a highlight too.
The hotel also helped organise tours for us. We originally planned to do a waterfall tour, but due to the weather one of the more popular waterfalls was closed. Our guide adapted the itinerary so well and ended up giving us a really personalised experience instead — including a different waterfall, a coffee plantation, and a temple visit.
The location was perfect for what I wanted: peaceful and away from the busy town centre, but still very easy to get a Grab into town whenever needed. It’s not really walkable to the centre, but that wasn’t an issue for us. I’d definitely stay here again.
Very peaceful location with beautiful surroundings. The staff were super friendly and took care of all our needs. I would recommend this without any hesitation!
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in a villa with balcony. We had a lovely breakfast every morning beside the pool. All the staff were so welcoming and attentive. Menzel is so relaxing and peaceful. We certainly recommend Menzel for a wonderful stay in Ubud.
A so nice place. With the ricefied in the middle. Like a fairytale. Very lovely food. Taste really good and looked very beautiful. Very nice staff. Always happy and kind. I can really recommend this place. Book the villa or dubbel room deluxe. We hade deluxe room. 10 min walk to the mainroad.

Thank you
It's ok, bit shabby but well kept, know that you can hear anyone in a joint rooms as the doors are Bali style. Staff very nice, be aware they put sugar in everything. Breakfast very basic.
A Nice quirky quiet boutique hotel away from the Ubud town centre. Great staff. Breakfast options limited like a Continental breakfast.
Good size room (we had an Ethnical cottage overlooking a stream which was really nice)
Limited vegetarian options.
Any additional services like drinking water was an extra cost. Overall a nice stay
Wow, this place made my Bali trip worth it. I think the resort was the highlight of my trip. The staff were so friendly and fast. You ask for anything and they deliver in seconds. I enjoyed my view by the patio filled with so much lush and greenery. My boyfriend and I got a massage everyday and ended our package with a flower bath. That was an experience I will never forget. If I ever make my way back to Bali I will definitely stay here again!
The property is extremely beautiful and the service is great. Everyone at reception, housekeeping, and restaurant were so kind and attentive. Food is very good with fresh healthy options and great atmosphere. We didn’t know until the last day we could’ve opted for breakfast on our patio; I wish we had known from the beginning. The cooking class on-site was so fun. The chef had a great personality and was an excellent teacher. The hotel is set back a little bit away from town but close enough to get a ride into town for the day.
The spa is cute, but rooms aren’t air-conditioned and therapists average. One of the massage therapists let us know how upset she was that we were 15 min late and scolded us both before and after treatment. She claimed someone was scheduled right after us, but there was not anyone waiting when we were done so I suspect that they just wanted to go home early. I try never to be late but it was an honest mistake / we had lost track of time and were in our private pool unable to hear the phone ring. I also was disappointed that the head massage involved oil all over my face without my approval, causing me to break out badly afterwards. When we asked the staff names, the angry one wanted to know why we were asking. Needless to say I don’t think the spa is worth a visit. Everything else here was magical and I would definitely stay here again. Everything was very clean. I recommend housekeeping not leave doors open as it lets mosquitoes in.
Lovely few days in this beautiful, tranquil hideaway with lovely people, superb service, great food and excellent value for money. Highly recommend the cooking class, we learned how to create an assortment of Balinese dishes and had the good fortune to consume them afterwards.
A lovely little shelter away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town.
Our entire stay was amazing! The villa is lovely, the floating breakfast & romantic dinner was a hit! The food at the restaurant was yummy. Desserts are all tasty too. We are all taken cared by wonderful staff. Worth it!
The staff at Menzel Ubud went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of during our stay here. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. We ran into some issues with our transportation to the airport, and the receptionist was kind enough to help us find someone on the spot who could take us! The only challenging part was the road to the villas. Many roads are small in Bali, but this one in particular many drivers said the road was so narrow, only one car could fit at a time. Our airport driver our first night in almost didn't drive us up to the hotel as he didn't think he could fit, but eventually he was able to!
Our flights were cancelled for this trip due to COVID-19, we were meant to be staying last month and have been chasing a refund but no one is getting back to us after numerous attempts
