Wonderful B&B

Gorgeous Victorian home. Comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Wonderful service. Favorably reminds me of hotels I have stayed in in England. Next time I am in Taylorville, I will stay here.

Upon arrival the innkeeper showed us around the home and all the room that weren't taken and gave us some history of the house. The room was lovely and quiet. The innkeeper made us a great breakfast the next morning.

Sweet little B&B

The Market Street Inn is a gorgeous place to stay. The owners are polite and very accommodating. We were upgraded to the Chimney Room, which has a king sized bed and a wonderful Jacuzzi tub. Everyone at the B&B was extraordinarily friendly. We stood out on the porch with the owners and their friends for a while and just talked. The Market Street Inn really feels like a home!

This is in a beautiful old home that is well maintained. The manager on duty was friendly and efficient. The house was very quiet and the very comfortable. Our biggest issues were parking...no off street lot and breakfast was served later which may be typical of a b&b. This was our first experience in one.

Lovely Victorian with great breakfast.

I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Market Street Inn. My room was lovely, very Victorian, With tall windows and antiques. The bathroom, however, was clean and had all the modern conveniences. Breakfast was yummy and filling and the proprietors were helpful and friendly.

Mack and Jay visit Mom in Decatur

While Mack has stayed here many times, this was my first visit to Market Street Inn in Taylorville. From the moment we got there to our departure 4 days later we were treated like treasured family members. It was a busy weekend with two family reunions staying there and we were still given individual attention and had grand breakfasts with the other guests. Well organized and very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Charming B&B and great hospitality

This is a charming B&B in Taylorville, IL close to Springfield. Perfect location for the outdoor activities we had planned for our trip. Interesting note, it is a kit home constructed in the late 1800s, one of several in the area. Great hospitality and delicious food were provided by Joe and Myrna. We'll be back!

A real Gem

We have stayed here when visiting family in the area. Have always been pleased. Beautiful 120 yo building with very comfortable rooms. Joe an Myrna are excellent hosts and met our needs superbly. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. Very convenient 1 block off city square with historic courthouse.

So peaceful, relaxing and charming.

Excellent experience over a one-night stay this week, I wish it were longer! The room was comfortable, the bath luxurious, the breakfast awesome. I spent some time chatting with the owners and they are terrific folks.

Wonderful break away without breaking the bank

Market Street Inn is a lovely respite for rest and relaxation in a beautifully restored Victorian house. Each room is tastefully decorated, amenities are wonderful and the Inn Keeper friendly and helpful. We were served a delicious breakfast and then spent the morning by the fireplace reading as the weather was bad. Market Street Inn is great value and lots of fun.

Wonderful

Overall Joe & Myrna made the trip what it was. They kept the home gorgeously kept, with great accommodations, and wine to go with any request. The food was delicious, and the conversations had were better than most you will have with your family.

A jewel in small town America

We stayed at Market Street Inn over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were in town to visit family and really just wanted a nice clean place to stay. We knew it would be good, but we were really impressed and everything exceeded our expectations. The hospitality was outstanding and the antique decor in the main house was wonderful!!!!!

Midwestern Gem is Sure to Please!

My husband and I had never been to a Bed and Breakfast before and wanted to find a place to get away and reconnect. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. Myrna and Joe (whom I called Alan Alda due to the uncanny resemblance) were the epitome of hospitality and sparkling conversation, both of which are often neglected in this fast-paced world. The room was perfection, the breakfast superb, and the obvious care of the hosts for the comfort of their guests was outstanding. This is THE B&B to visit if you are looking for a romantic getaway, relaxing weekend, or want to reconnect with what makes the midwest so special: our wonderful people.
