there was nothing obviously bad about this property, although on my final night there were some teens partying in the neighbourhood, but that is of no fault of the hotel and they did calm down within a reasonable time. the rooms were clean and cozy, and with the location being right in downtown it was very convenient for what I was there for.

Great location. Quiet. Helpful manager. Comfortable bed. Minor negative was no sink in the kitchen so had to wash the coffee pot out in my room! Appreciated the window AC.

I liked that the room was right downtown. It would have been great to have had a bit larger room, but the hostoric nature of the building made up for it, however. It seems the building is due for a rennovation to make it a bit more contemporary. As it stands, it is very “from the 90s.” Prompt service response to my emails.

This property is in an excellent location, easily walkable to the harbour and all the restaurants and bars of Water and George Street, and even walkable if you’re more ambitious, to the hike from Battery neighborhood up to Signal Hill and of course to the Rooms. The room itself was quite small and a bit dated, but if your intention is just to sleep there, it did the trick.

We had the room on the top floor. It was a nice sized room, with a very comfortable queen size bed. It had a window air conditioner which cooled the room to an adequate temperature but still a little warm. The bathroom is tiny with the shower on the opposite side of the room, which worked well. There was a large kitchen area on the main floor and the addition of a water cooler was great. Overall, it was clean snd comfortable and worked well for what we needed.

The Gower Guest House perfectly matched our needs and fully met our expectations. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the location was both quiet and central. The hosts were exceptionally accommodating. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting St. John's.

I really enjoyed my stay at Gower Guest House! Very quiet, but it was April! The attendant cleaner always took away the dirty dishes! Nice. One thing was that the kitchen, which I used, had no sink to rinse things or get water, and the available water bottle ran empty on the last day. There wasn't many breakfast options, but I brought quick oats and prepared them in the microwave. Nice place!
