"The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV.
It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well.

"Breakfast was simple but enough. Some of the best snorkeling we found across the island was off the beach of the hotel. The use of kayaks made it really fun to kayak to the nearby bay and over towards the nearby Hilton bungalows. Due to some unforeseen issues with our original accommodations, we found ourselves needing a new place to stay on very short notice, as in it’s 4pm and we have no where to stay. The host called me within the hour of the booking request, kindly walked me through every detail, and let me know she was already sending her cleaning team so we could check in shortly after. "Wonderful, but large place. We stayed in the end bungalow over the water so it was a bit of a walk to the resort. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Reservations for dinner are definitely required at the restaurant. The Sunday Buffet was excellent, but pricey. Overall, it is a great place to stay."
