We had a great stay at the Stone Ranch. The ranch house has a lot of character and the interior decor is great. Comfortable beds, awesome custom fire pit, and a great host made this trip a big time hit!
This is an old house that hasn’t been updated. Let’s say it’s rough around the edges. We locked ourselves out, and the host was slow to respond. But once he did, he got us in. I will say the mattress on the king bed was comfortable.
It’s a rustic ranch house!
I was happy to find a place close to Seymour. It is obvious the house is being renovated and the downstairs is doable.I had trouble finding as gps took my the wrong direction so address is important. Best to arrive during day to find. But once found, east to find.We stayed only downstairs and a fan to pull a/c into lower level room made it comfortable. Was clean and ready and that was my priority for this trip.
Liked the solitude and privacy. Need to give entry instructions ahead of time. We waited at gate for 45 minutes to get in. Also need different microwave. Very frustrating. Enjoyed our stay.
My bed broken in the middle of the night and the owner asked for 60$ more for clean. When the place was not a mess at all. The trash can was full when we arrived .

Grandsons Graduation
The booking said sleeps four. Our daughter and son in law spent one night and we were charged 100 extra dollars. We are rustic people as we have stayed in many cabins over the years and I have been on deer leases for years. This is a deer lease lodge and is listed as VRBO when it is not deer season. It would be a great deer lease but it is not a great VRBO. Although it was out buy it’s self with privacy. The oven doesn’t work. We spent most of our time outside by the fire pit/cowboy. If you are ok with scorpions (that are like roaches you just step on them) then you will be ok. It was not a bad place just a VERY bad taste in my mouth that this owner charged me 100 extra dollars for four adults when the listing said sleeps four. Would not stay here again.

Functional at best
Expected rustic which would be ok, but this was not acceptable. Broken Dryer, gas oven did not heat (pilot lit), gas grill leaky gas line unsafe, tv/DVD player only and randomly turns off. Shower only suitable for very small adult, mice in bedroom off dining area. Stairs to 2nd floor very steep and treads only 8inch deep (not up to code) present safety risk. Camera inside home turned on while guest in home is unacceptable. Would have left but no other accommodations in area available.

DO NOT BOOK FOR FAMILIES
We were very excited to stay at Triangle S Ranch, but our experience was incredibly disappointing, and ultimately unsafe for our family. The listing advertises four bedrooms, but only one was realistically usable. The two upstairs rooms are completely uninsulated, and the window units could not keep up with the Texas heat, even after running for several hours. The third room had no air conditioning at all. The heat was intense and dangerous; my child woke up drenched in sweat. It was simply not safe to sleep in those conditions. To make matters worse, we saw a mouse running through the house, creating a serious concern about cleanliness and disease risk. That was the final straw. After trying to make it work, we made the difficult decision to pack up and drive back to DFW in the middle of the night. It was that uncomfortable and concerning. We reached out to the host to explain the situation, but no refund was offered, despite the unlivable conditions. This listing is misleading, and I would strongly caution anyone considering it, especially families with young children. The host needs to be transparent about the lack of insulation, cooling, and pest issues so others don’t have to go through what we did.
