"The Bonaventure is my go to hotel in Montreal. I'm there frequently. The staff are their strong suit. From the desk clerks, to house keeping, bellman, an wait staff. They are all excellent. The roof top pool an hot tub are a huge draw, as are the year round duck population. (Heated pond). Location an parking are excellent, connected to the underground city. Plus the food is excellent, great buffet . Lastly a nice gym to work out in. Stay here you won't be disappointed n"

"It is a difficult review because the property is going through a major renovation of all the common areas which may make a big difference once completed. The main disappointment was that this was promoted as a 4 star hotel, which it clearly is not. However we got a very large king suite which allowed us much comfort and the ability to host friends and family during our week long stay. The kitchenette was adequate without some basics such as an oven pan or dish towels or full size coffee mugs. However requests were fulfilled by staff. Another interesting point is that the suites are in a different tower from the regular hotel so I can’t speak to the regular hotel. The suites however are a mix of hotel and privately owned. Sound insulation was not great between rooms and poor to the hallway, but we were okay in spite of some crying babies and a neighbour intent on hammering at 11pm. The hotel cannot act on noise complaints of the privately owned units. We did fine despite this though my parents in another unit were easily relocated. The onsite underground parking is very tight on level one but better below that. Overall I found the large suite excellent value for such a convenient downtown location. "

"Perfect location in Montreal. Close to restaurants and “Quartier des spectacles”. Rooms are confortable and quiet. Not fancy but very comfortable and clean. "

"Overall, a good budget stay, but a dated hotel in need of decor and infrastructure upgrades. Not a good choice for anyone with even the mildest of mobility issues. As of March 2026, the accessible features at main entry inoperable; the doors are extremely heavy to manage even without luggage and parcels. No consistent doorman/greeter to assist guests through the sallyport. Hotel needs to be more transparent about parking. Self-parking is across street in a private underground lot with no elevator. This is not mentioned in hotel profile. Staff advertises it as "no in-out privileges", when really, one can enter and exit at will. $30/24hrs. Elevator to floors above 15 out of service. No posted timeline for repair for either front door or elevator. Only option is the tiny service elevator, which is clumsy to share with hotel staff. My initial room on 17th floor had inoperable HVAC - no A/C or heat controls. Staff changed my room to a lower floor at no extra charge. Personnel friendly and professional; and the room was spotless, very clean."
