no AC

they are leaving the location in a month. they dont fx anything anymore. AC and TV doesnt work. Water in shower and faucet was brown!! however, staff are friendly and apologetic with the situation and gave us a reasonable room discount.

The accommodation is good. The staff cleaned the room every day. I did some diving there as well, the diving guides are friendly. I like the terrace and the garden. There is limited WIFI in the room, other things are all great They will move to Anilao this year. Can't wait to visit them again.

The ac unit did not work very well luckily had fans in the room to keep cool would have been nice to have a plug outside to turn a fan on and sit on porch I would not recommend to a friend.

Hotel right on the beach

Very nice friendly staff, beach and town were not to my liking. But hotel room was very clean and staff very friendly.

For the diver on a tight budget, this might be ok, but was less than desirable for the casual traveler looking for quiet, relaxing and clean. The shower was a trickle, bed had sand in it, and was kept awake by drunk loud divers. I will say the food was pretty good.

renovierungsbedürftige Unterkunft

Zimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig, das Wasser vom Pool war grün und milchig, wir haben daher auf ein Baden darin verzichtet. Die Bilder der Homepage vom Blue Ribbon Dive Resort sind nicht aktuell. Es gibt keine Liegen am Pool. Wir mussten nach einer Woche umziehen, da das Dach mitten in der Hauptsaison vom alten Bungalow neu gemacht werden sollte. Der neue Ausblick unserer Terrasse war auf die Wäscheleinen des Hotels von den Handtüchern. Es wurde den ganzen Tag in der Anlage gehämmert, geklopft, usw, da das Zimmer neben uns renoviert wurden, ein entspanntes Lesen eines Buches auf der Terrasse war nicht möglich. Das Bad war eine Katastrophe: Alt, verschimmelt, dunkel, keine Badablage, alles verkalkt, Duschvorhang zu kurz, ... Leider spiegelten die Bilder des Hotel nicht die Wahrheit wieder, sonst hätten wir hier nicht gebucht.

Puerto Galera exists for the diving and there is little reason to go there otherwise. I can't comment on the diving aspect of the hotel but the rooms are a disgrace and not suited to the basic needs of the modern traveller at this price point.Our room in Manila at the same cost (and well located )was like a palace comparatively.

We were put in another (not so nice) place the first night due to double booking. We were moved to blue ribbon the second day and the rooms there were great. However think we should have been offered a discount for the first night as the standard of that place was really much lower. The Diving masters and instructors were great, very helpful and professional. Would dive with them again if I would go back to sabang.

Se vc gosta de mergulhar, esse eh um otimo hotel. Entretanto, pra quem gosta de praia, a mais proxima fica a uns 20 minutos de moto. No geral, o hotel eh muito bom, otimo atendimento, bom restaurante, boa manutencao.

value for money , well run resort

only booked for a few nights online just in case. Stayed with my wife and two young children and some relatives. great position on waterfront, new pool being built, lovely outlook from the restaurant, good selection of food, no complaints on quality or freshness, nice bungalows in a tropical setting. this not 5 star, but for the room rate, you get more than other resorts on the island and it has a great atmosphere. At nights with live local bands and excellent staff tentative to your needs Primarily a dive resort , but just as good for a stay if not into diving.We so much enjoyed our few nights that we stayed for an extra 4 nights

The resort is improved compared to the last time I stayed there many years ago. Staff were very friendly. Would just suggest that they not wash the towels that are hanging up to save water.

It's ok, but I'd pick a different location

The resort consists of a couple of handfuls of bungalows. They're quite basic but ok (depending on your standard). The staff is very friendly and the kitchen seemed good. There is also a different buffet available every day of the week. Drawbacks: 1) Some idiot thinks it's a great idea for the staff to sort the recycling first thing in the morning. This means you must expect to wake up to the noise of some schmuck throwing tin cans, glass bottles and plastic into different containers. Why they believe it is a good idea to do this starting at 05:30 a.m. rather than during the day, only God the all mighty will have a slight chance of comprehending. Also note that this resort is located in SABANG which has no beach. There is close proximity to the water and that's good if you only would like to be taken out for diving (either by Blue Ribbon itself or by one of the many, many other dive shops around). The area is not really suitable for sitting down at the beach - too much garbage scattered accross the dirty, rocky shore line. Pretty sad actually. I went on a dive with Blue Ribbon, and that was pretty good. Other than that it should be mentioned that Sabang is pretty seedy, shabby and run down. Not much here. In sum, I think I'd have to recommend somewhere else in the Puerto Galata area.

We, four males of various ages, stayed at the above resort for two nights in November 2011. We were really impressed ,not only with the high standard of the accommodation, but also with the staff who could not have been more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there and will certainly return, for a longer stay at this lovely resort.

Blue Ribbon Dive Resort

The Blue Ribbon Dive Resort has a warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and the highest quality of customer service. I price shopped around and they really were the best deal on the beach. I started out booking one night and I ended up staying and diving for several weeks.
