Three houses of shale that are being recovered in the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Village Tourism Project, Casas da Encosta Lodge, where it is possible to revive the life, history and culture of the people of region, in the comfort of a typical village of Beira. Shale houses are being restored following the concept of local construction where shale, clay and wood are privileged. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened its doors in 2015 and has capacity for six people, boasting in the living room the living proof of a unique utensil of the region, the winegrower. Those who pass by can take advantage of the region through hiking, river beaches and viewpoints, explore the villages of Schist and, of course, experience the rich and varied cuisine of typical dishes such as Cabrito Estonado, Maranho, Bucho among others.

The House of Lagariça consists of 2 bedrooms, each composed of double and single bed, toilet, kitchen, dining room and living room. To be enjoyed by the whole landscape we have the terrace. We have capacity for 6 Adults and possibility of including an extra bed for a child and a bed rails for Bebe.

The House of Lagariça are located in a cluster of old houses shale, in which they are connected by a set of friendly walkways (Quelhas). Besides being able to dine on the outdoor terrace, has the ability to walk freely around the village, where in addition to a shale crowded area, has yet to explore the 5 km of river to the nearest village, Penafalcão.
