The hotel is located a short walk from the city center, easily accessible to the sites and to restaurants. Staff were very helpful and kind. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again!
I love this little gem of a hotel. It’s about 15 minutes walk out of the centre of
Porto. The rooms are lovely. I stayed in the one in the photos & it’s perfect. Everything is spotlessly clean and it is quiet at night. Breakfast is a buffet which was lovely. It’s a family run business and everyone I met was lovely. A perfect little place to stay in Porto

Very good for the low price!
The owners were very nice and extremely friendly. They were very accommodating during our stay and ensured our room was ready early on our arrival.
The building is an old grandeur house with elaborate staircases and high ceilings. The room was spacious enough with a bathroom built into the side of it, as it would've originally been a very large room. It was cold outside in winter and the heater was kept on the whole team and heated the room well. This worked better than a more modern AC/heating system than another hotel that we stayed in was using.
The breakfast options were adequate being freshly pressed orange juice, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs and pastel de nata.
It is about a 15 mins walk down to the front area of the bridge and Ribeira and about a 15-20 mins walk to the city centre area of Bolhao or San Bento train station. Alternatively take an Uber or 5-10 mins walk to the metro. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. These are cheaper than the city centre and full of locals so felt more authentic.
The location is great as it's less than a five minute walk to restaurants and shops. The room we had was okay it was very small. There was no room to put your suitcases, etc. The bathroom lighting was terrible as most hotels/other are. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was quite good. We enjoyed our stay in Porto.
This guest house is in an old tiled house with many steep steps and approximately 8 rooms. It is charming, very clean, has excellent owners who speak many languages, provides a good cold breakfast and is in a quiet neighbourhood with local shops and cafes within a block’s distance. Our room, number 5, had a comfy double bed in a charming rounded room with very high ceilings, small bathroom with good water pressure, and traditional wood shutters. We stayed in May 2025 and, although Porto is building its new pink metro line, we loved Porto and wished we had stayed three nights, not two. My advice is to stay here, be careful of pickpockets, learn a few Portuguese words, bring ONLY comfortable walking shoes, practice climbing steep steps, buy the hop-on-hop-off bus tour, visit the local beach area to see the bay dolphins, drink plenty of water and get lost in the old town. Enjoy.
Lovely b+b with great helpful staff - they answered all questions and made the break special to celebrate my birthday - walked miles but lication of b+b great as a base - lovely bar at end of the street that sells vinyl.
Thank you
The staff were very welcoming and available to answer any requests. The location was handy, could reach the sights within walking distance and back again.
My friend and I stayed here for three nights and it was a wonderful experience! The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable and clean, and the morning breakfast was delicious. The town center was within walking distance, perfect for exploring. Would definitely recommend Duke’s Corner for anyone’s vacation plans in Porto :)
This guest house is an historical building which has recently undergone extensive renovation. The staff are full of enthusiasm and are very helpful - the place is great! Nice welcoming atmosphere - beautiful breakfast and really good tips on where to go and what to see plus welcoming drinks! Really nice owners here - I look forward to going back!
Amazing location and such a genuine stay in a beautiful building. The service was phenomenal! From, waiting for us to arrive (we were late) to helping with our luggage to their friendliness. Property was exceptionally clean. Highly recommend
Wonderful friendly staff all around. Great rooms . Great breakfast.
Super nice lady 'Iracema' will squeeze fresh oj for an amazing breakfast. Feels like mom looking after us!
Location is off by one block on expedia map. Google maps has it correct.
Thank you to Fatima and her delightful team for making us so welcome. We already miss you! The guest house is superb and located within walking distance to all of the sights in Porto
Obrigado for making our stay with you very pleasurable and the little touches of 'Port' and 'Chocolates' in our room were very thoughtful.
Also for the breakfasts and advice as to where to eat dinner in the evenings
Looking forward to return one day in the near future
If you are a traveler who delights in learning about each country the way the locals live, come to Dukes Corner Guest House. The place is clean and has all anyone would need to be comfortable. The location is excellent to the buses and trains, a short walk only. The only caveat I would add is that this is a 198 year old property, according to Fatima who has worked there for several years. She and the rest of the staff are what made the whole stay worth every effort to get to Portugal in the first place. The caveat: Stairs. Lots of them and rather steep. If you need an elevator, go elsewhere. If not, enjoy the warmth and hospitality of a "real" hotel.
Lovely guest house. The staff were very friendly and the location is about a 15 minute walk to the main areas of interest in Porto.
I have to be honest though. I didn’t get much sleep whilst here. There is no soundproofing at all in the rooms. I would even hear people talking in the rooms opposite the hall, not just next door.
The noise eventually died down at 1am to then start up again by 7am.
If you get disturbed by noise or are a light sleeper I would not stay here, but otherwise it was a lovely place to stay.
