This is an excellent b&b in the country with views across the loch. Darren and Karen are very fine and friendly hosts. I am very happy to recommend if you want a rural stay about 30 minutes drive from Oban.

Fantastic hosts and great accommodation.

Had a most enjoyable stay at The Old Cottage with wonderful hosts Karen and Darren. Really comfy double bed & great shower. Had the benefit of a gorgeous roaring fire in spacious lounge area at night with lots of DVDs and a library of books about stuff to explore in the local area. Darren and Karen were such lovely people, warm , friendly and gave helpful tips about the locality. Breakfast was fabulous, tasty and varied. Would highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be back. Many thanks to Darren and Karen for an amazing break.

Unforgettable!

What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday.

Lovely stay at Darren and Karen´s cottage

We had the most incredible stay at Darren and Karen's charming cottage in Scotland. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The cottage itself is a true gem, with its picturesque surroundings and cozy interior. It's evident that Darren and Karen have put a lot of love and care into every aspect of the cottage. The attention to detail is impeccable, from the well-equipped kitchen to the comfortable beds and tasteful decor. The location is simply breathtaking, nestled amidst the stunning Scottish countryside. We enjoyed long walks in nature, taking in the beauty of the landscape, and exploring nearby attractions recommended by Darren and Karen. You haven't traveled until you've stayed at a Bed & Breakfast in the countryside. Our hosts have done an immaculate job with their property. The room felt almost too perfect to use! Wonderful breakfast, beautiful library and sitting area at the centre of the house. Great attention to detail throughout. Walking distance to a good quality dinner restaurant and bar. Gardens and the sea also a short stroll away. All in all a memorable part of our vacation.

Wonderful greeting and welcoming from Darren and Karen. Perfect instructions, their local knowledge and enthusiasm and love for the area is limitless. The accommodation is superb, location is very central to some of the most historical and beautiful, silent areas.The choice of breakfast? ..I guarantee you wouldn’t get the choice of cereals, jam’s etc anywhere else.. (Karen puts other ‘full’ breakfasts to shame..). We will visit the west of Scotland again and unquestionably The Old Cottage will be on our stopover menu.
