Everything was cool with the exception of one issue. The smoke alarm was beeping all night for my entire stay. I reported at least 2 times, once to the greeter and the other time to the front desk. I was told it would get fixed by the time i returned. it was never fixed. Other than this issue the rest was fine.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
No me brindaron cambio de tendidos, toallas y fueron solicitadas, ademas no recojieron basura, y es muy incomodo, deberia haber un papel con las nuevas condiciones de servicio, de acuerdo al coronavirus.
We were expecting a small cheap room but we got upgraded to a suite! Awesome staff. Clean rooms. They check your temperature when you enter which makes us feel safe. The hotel is about 4 small blocks to times square. And about 4 blocks to central park. There is a small cute cafe underneath the hotel. A subway three building next door. A Starbucks across the street. They have parking about a block away, it's a small walk you do pay though but you get a discount if you get your ticket stamped. One bad thing. The heaters barely worked in out room.
Staff was rude and all over the place. They didn’t have their COVID information and processes/procedures ready for the guests and their way of explaining fees was unprofessional. Every time we asked them a question they just blamed it on “the union”. As a guest I don’t know what a union is and I frankly don’t care because that’s between the hotel and the labor union and blaming things on them makes the hotel look bad and like they don’t have a good relationship with their partners. Overall the stay was disappointing.
It was good overall except the main room didn’t have any heat. They came in a timely manner to fix it. But it still didn’t work. I was told by the front desk I would receive a $20 discount never happened.
We stayed at the Wellington during this craziness with the virus. Our stay was so wonderful. The staff was just amazing and so compassionate when we needed to leave early. I would stay here time and time again.
Excellent location and service. My favorite hotel to stay in the area.

Liked: Staff & service
The location was a huge attraction for me to chose this hotel but was disappointed with the quality of rooms and public sapces. Although there was some renovation work undergoing. I must mentioned my great appreciation though to the front desk and management staff who accommodated my sudden change of travel plans. I would go back to be close to what New York has to offer

Fantastic stay, with a few rough edges
The headline is that I had the best vacation in New York I could've hoped for and the Wellington Hotel was a pivotal part of that experience.
The beds are exceptionally comfortable, my friend and I did about 46 miles of walking over the course of our stay and the bliss of diving into those beds at the end of each day never got old. Absolute 10/10 on that point.
The staff were fantastic and friendly as well, I couldn't fault them at all and the location of the Hotel is absolutely perfect. A short walk from Central Park and Times Square with easy metro station access.
The Hotel itself felt a little worn and dated, the style of the hotel is old fashioned which I loved about it but things like loose door handles, intermittently working air conditioner, loose taps in the bathrooms all gave the impression the Hotel needed a little TLC. They are doing some extensive refurbishment in the lobby though so that might already be in the works.
Another change I think would go along way would be to modernise the TV set-up. A lot of places have smart TV's now-a-days that you can cast too or use to watch Youtube/Netflix so having such a basic cable set-up with limited channels was a drawback, especially as some of the hotels we considered had that level of set-up for the same price.
Overall I really loved the Hotel and hope to return someday, but think that there's some small touches/around the edges work that could really level up the whole experience.

This was a great spot to stay for my first visit to New York City. The woman that checked me in was so welcoming and friendly. I was able to check in early and she upgraded me from a Queen Room to a King Room.
The bed was comfortable. My only issue with the room was the plumbing in the shower. It is old and was very difficult to get to a tolerable temperature.
The hotel is in walking distance to both Central Park and Times Square.
Brilliant location for the city. Only a few minutes walk from all the main sights of Midtown. The hotel is undergoing some renovations to the lobby which has zero affect on the quality of your stay. The staff are friendly and polite. The hotel itself looks a bit old than some of the surrounding properties, but i like that in a building; much better than a boring, sterile white and grey room like so many other hotels. My room was perfectly clean and the bed was one of the comfiest hotel beds I've slept in. Plenty of hot water and a big separate space to hang clothes. The in-room toiletries are lovely and of good quality. Only downside was the hotel was quite warm and stuffy, but i just kept my window open. City noise came in but was rectified by a pair of $2 earplugs. Problem solved! I'd definitely stay here again; perfect location for Central Park, the theatre district, Times Square and everything else Midtown has to offer.
