  • Came across the Kootenai Falls stop on the way home from a road trip. Hit it early in the morning so there were only a handful of people. A very easy hike. We stopped the end of May so the water was rushing through. Here in BC there are fences all around edges of cliffs and water. Here there was nothing so you could really enjoy the raw beauty of Mother Nature.

waking up to the mountains and lake each morning

We had an amazing stay in Nelson! The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The view was absolutely incredible — waking up to the mountains and lake each morning was unreal. It was peaceful, private, and just a short drive to town. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot — highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

The home is beautiful with each suet having a view of Kootenai Lake. We enjoyed sitting on the little patio overlooking the mountains and the lake and breathing the fresh air. The suet was very well appointed with gorgeous floors, lighting, fireplace, luxurious bedding.

This property was clean, the staff (owner) was super friendly, and there was stuff to do for little kids. The room we stayed in was immaculately clean and we were also welcomed with little chocolates. We had everything we needed and it was very quiet.

Visited earlier in the year. Went to nearby hikes at the lake but during the time we stayed, and visited the hot springs. The hosts were great and attended our needs. Hosts recommended sites and nearby eateries, including showing us the up and coming services to be provided in the future. Had a very nice and pleasant quiet stay, as the suite was nice and large. When we get more time, would love to come back.

Lovely place!

This was a very lovely place - spacious, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the outside sports area where one could either play pickleball, badminton or throw a basketball!

Lovely and Comfortable

Very comfortable and roomy. Lovely view. Only downside is about half an hour from Nelson and no restaurants closer than that. But thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A fantastic 'Home Base' for a Getaway Retreat... Close to the Balfour / Kootenay Bay Ferry Crossing... Hiking & Climbing, Golf, Water Sports a short drive away in all directions, as are Ainsworth Hot Springs, Kaslo, and Nelson / Balfour for terrific dining! You'll love it!

This property boasts breathtaking views of Kootenai Lake. The host was thoughtful and helpful giving us much needed information to make our stay perfect. The property is within 15 minutes to Ainsworth Hot Springs. Great amenities such as real cream for the coffee and quality assortments of shower products. We will definitely be back.
