House was suitable for 5plus people. Great area close to a lot of things. Red Maple Vineyard nearby. Clean and well equipped with whatever you would need.
My adult siblings and I had a wonderful weekend celebrating my brothers 70th birthday, very cozy comfortable a great house for lounging and relaxing, loved the deck and the fire pit too! Beautiful wooded setting. Truly, unique, we would go back
Mountain ridge retreat was a wonderful home. Near by shops and sightseeing. The house was clean, stocked, and very accommodating for our large party. Open kitchen/dining/living room allowed for great conversation whether cooking, snacking, or relaxing! Communication with owners was prompt and extremely helpful if needed. Would 100% recommend!!
House, bedrooms, and bathrooms were all clean, and as shown in the photos. As others mentioned, nice open plan kitchen and living room with seating, allowing group conversations. Nice sunny windows, nice fire pit, quiet area. Enjoyed the various activities in the area, including Minnewaska State Park, Walkway over the Hudson, John Burroughs Slabsides and hiking trails, New Paltz Stone Houses (and restaurants), the Rosendale Trestle, Snyder Estate, and the High Falls Canal Museum. Would go back.
We stayed for our student club's fall retreat. We were blown away with how beautiful the property and its surroundings were. The space was aqeduate for all of our needs and it was close enough to a hiking trail that we were able to take a day and go. This is a space we hope to return to in the future. Everyone left rested and joyful. We highly recommend this space if youre looking for a Fall getaway.
Our immediate and extended family rented this property so that we could all stay together while attending my son's graduation from Marist College. It was the perfect size for the seven of us. There were plenty of beds, bathrooms and seating. The front porch and deck were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the rustic scenery. The home and yard were clean and well kept. We had absolutely no complaints. Future renters should know, however, that the short road leading to the house is gravel and unlit. We arrived during daylight hours so we had no problem navigating it.
This was our second time renting this property and the standards are still as high as the first time we rented. The house was clean and well stocked. This time it did not rain so we were able to enjoy the outdoor part of the property. The deck is very comfortable and the yard is spacious enough to play lawn games. The lay out of the house is perfect for our family. The long hallway provides a bedroom at the end where the younger ones can go to bed and not be disturbed by any activity in the family room/kitchen area. We visit the area to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. She is a student at the Culinary Institute of America. The house is within a comfortable distance from the various universities in Poughkeepsie. Thanks again for a great weekend!! We will be definitely be back.
This home is perfect for a family getaway. We had restricted electronics to just cellphones, so no gaming systems were allowed. So one floor open layout allowed us to interact while cooking meals and playing card games etc. We were very grateful the owner had provided gas for the grill. My grandsons cooked out and made smores while we went to the rehearsal dinner the first night. The three bathrooms made it easy for each woman to prepare for the wedding the next day. Being close Kingston and New Paltz made it easy for the men to run into town for things they forgot. The location of the home allowed for total privacy. My younger grandsons woke to find deer in the yard. We plan to go back when we have more time to enjoy the many sites in the area. Walk across the Hudson and FDR home are on our list.
With 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths, the house can easily and comfortably accommodate large groups.
The layout is appealing as all the rooms are contained on one floor. It allowed for privacy and quiet time
for those who desired it, even while most of our group was hanging out in the family room area. We had twin toddlers that went to bed much earlier than the rest of the group. With the door closed at the end of the hall, we
could not hear the music or conversation coming from the family room. The open floor plan in the
kitchen/family room area allowed for everybody to be together whiling playing games/watching the
baseball game/cooking. Also, three full bathrooms were a blessing with our large group.
The property manager was responsive as we had a couple of question during our trip. Thank you for a great birthday weekend for my granddaughter!!
The house is very nice for a large group. The master bedroom was large enough that our kids could sleep on an extra bed on the floor. The kitchen has a good amount of items for cooking like pots, pans, utensils, plates and bowls for making meals for a larger group. We had some issues with the internet and the host sent someone in a timely manner to check out the issue. There were not as many board games as we had hoped. All in all our family had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
