Nice three star hotel in the city center. Walkable to all the sites. Comfortable rooms. Must walk up stairs. Normal German style breakfast included. Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent food for dinner at the restaurant.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel behalve de heer die steeds in het zwart gekleed is. Kamers top in orde, matras was naar mijn mening te zacht. Lekker ontbijt en ook het eten van het restaurant was zeer lekker.

Wenn es sehr windig ist, sollte man nicht unbedingt das Zimmer 303 nehmen - in der einen Nacht haben wir kaum geschlafen, da ständig der Wind unter die Schindeln wehte und sie zum Klappern brachte.

Lage, Gastgeber und Frühstück einfach gut

Im Vorfeld hatten wir sowohl per E-Mail als auch per Telefon einen sehr guten und freundlichen Kontakt, wurden mit allen Informationen versorgt und konnten dann auch problemlos anreisen. Parken ist in 5 Gehminuten Entfernung am Parkplatz Burgau möglich (7€/24h, ab 3 Tagen gibt es in der Tourist Information (direkt neben dem Hotel) ein Ticket für 3€/Tag, Parken ist generell von 19-10 Uhr kostenlos. Ein kleiner Parkplatz ist am Gerberplatz direkt gegenüber vom Hotel, ideal zum Gepäck ausladen und mit etwas Glück um das Auto über Nacht stehen zu lassen.) Zimmer im Hotel wurden wohl kürzlich renoviert und sind in gutem Zustand, Bad ausreichend groß und Betten bequem. Frühstück war vollkommen ausreichend und lecker. Die Lage ist direkt in der Altstadt, alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Wir würden wieder kommen.

sehr nette Inhaber und Personal. sehr gutes Frühstück. GutesPreisleistungsverhältnis. Super zentral in Monschau gelegen. einzig die Matrazen haben die besten Jahre hinter sich. Allerdings für Kurzaufenthalt noch akzeptabel.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Endroit très calme

Séjour court pour changer de cadre en raison de travaux en face de chez moi...pour retrouver des travaux dans le rue principale de Monchau. Bon les nuisances étaient moins fortes, mais bien sûr on ne peut les imputer à l'hôtel. Attention il faut savoir que le restaurant est actuellement fermé en début de semaine (lundi, mardi, mercredi) car nous ne sommes pas dans une période touristique. Malgré cela le séjour proprement dit à Hotel Alt Monjoie a été très agréable, j'ai apprécié le calme de cet établissement et les petites attentions : une paire de chaussons, un objet pour déposer ses chaussures...Grand plus, la gentillesse des gérants.

Basic but good hotel.

Wanted to see the lovely town of Monschau before all the Christmas bustle. People that do, come prepared with some drinks and snacks, because of lot of the town is closed on Mondays. I arrived in town with public transport and the hotel is easy to find. Just follow the main road in to town, the hotel is a green building on your right. I arrived on Monday and an E-Mail explaining how and where to find my key for the rooms (the checkin and restaurant is closed on Monday) so I scared the nice Italian housekeeper with my appearance. A short talk to the owner netted me a key to my room, which turned out to be an upgrade, because I had my own toilet and shower! Yay! The room it self was clean, as was the bathroom. It came with 2 chairs, a desk and I thought a mini bar, which would have been useful, seeing everything in town was closes, but it was unfortunately just an empty cupboard where a fridge was supposed to be. The room's small window did not close completely, which made the room a bit chilly, but that was no problem for me, since I love colder rooms to sleep in. Breakfast the next morning was basic, but good quality products and for 4.80 (actually included in the booking price) it's a steal compared to what other hotels ask for lesser quality. Hotel owner apologised for Yesterday, but for me, there was no reason to. They sent an E-Mail, it didn't arrive but a solution was immediately offered. Overall, pleasant stay.

Schoon en netjes.

Uiterst vriendelijke mensen, goed ontbijt en lekker gegeten in het hotel. Bed perfect, schoon en netjes, alleen jammer van de hele kleine was/douche ruimte waar alleen een gordijn voor zit en dat er geen toilet op de kamer is. Ook is de wifi erg slecht en is er geen tv op de kamer en dat terwijl er verder weinig/niks te doen is 's avonds in Monchou, ook is het restaurant van het hotel 's avonds niet open om nog een drankje te kunnen drinken. En Ristorante Bellavista zouden we zeker niet aanbevelen, pizza's waren goed, maar we bestelden nog een toetje ijs en koffie en dat was volgens de serveerster geen probleem, tot het opeens erg druk werd in het kleine restaurant en ze ons kwam vertellen dat het toch niet mogelijk was. Wij zaten boven en toen we naar beneden naar de uitgang gingen zaten daar wel mensen koffie te drinken en stond er bij de uitgang een grote kar met allemaal ijs. Blijkbaar was ons tafeltje snel nodig dat we geen toetje meer mochten.

Monschau is een charmant stadje. Auto vrij. Dat heeft als gevolg dat je niet met je auto bij het hotel kan komen. Hotel voldeed ruim aan onze norm. Netjes, rustig en goed ontbijt.

Leuk hotel midden in het oude centrum van Monschau

Leuk hotel midden in het oude centrum van Monschau. Goed restaurant dat al om 19 uur sluit; opletten dus als je daar wilt eten. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. We hadden een zolderkamer, heel schoon maar erg eenvoudig ingericht en weinig comfortabel door het schuine dak. Wifi / internet werkte niet op zolder.

Great village and hotel especially for bikers

Great Hotel in the quaint German town of Monschau - cannot fault the rooms we had and as a motorcyclist having a garage to park the bikes in was a definite plus. The only downside (and this applies to most of Monschau as well) is that the place seems to shut at 9:30pm even on a Saturday night. Being a restaurant with rooms above there is no lounge so once closed (8:00pm one night) the only choice is to go to your room.
