This is not the best hotel I've stayed, but it IS the best in this price range. Super nice reception, and the room was spartan but very clean and correct. I stayed here as a pause in the middle of a long trip, and slept great. Also, there's a remarkable, higher-end restaurant nearby, Vault & Cellar, which was a welcome break from the drive. I'll stay here every time I make this trip.

Great place for the price range. Clean, quiet, and with big, plain rooms. I just wanted a quick overnight, and this was perfect. Plus there some good restaurants within a couple of miles. I'll stay here in the future.

It’s not the best when you walk in but my room was spotless, smelled good, fresh smelling pillows, lumpy bed, clean bathroom and it was literally the best sleep of my life away from home. No musty smell from the a/c and even had a small couch. Would recommend.

I must say my expectations weren't that high giving the "econo" in the name, but they were greatly exceeded. There was a fridge and microwave and hair dryer. The beds were actually the most comfortable we had on our road trip while paying the least for it. It's not a 4 star hotel of course, but they fill their niche in a commendable way.

Furnishings were worn, shabby, and a bit soiled. Lamp shades need to be replaced and the TV remote didn’t work properly. The shower curtain needed to be washed, (yuck), and we had to wait 15 minutes for the thin towels and washcloths to be dried and delivered. Peeling paint and patched areas in the bathroom. No coffee in the urns in the morning as we had been told, maybe in a half hour… The bed was comfortable and clean but I would never stay there again; not what I expect from Choice hotels plus Expedia was bragging about the posted price being the final price you pay but it was almost $15 more at checkout.

After a long day of driving, I was looking for a evening meal and a nice rest. Upon arriving at the Middletown Va Econolodge, I discovered that other than McDonalds fast food, there was no other food available. So I had to get back in my car and go search around (in an area unfamiliar to me) for someplace to eat. I find it really frustrating that overnight accommodations are not located in places where various food establishments are also convenient. Expedia (and the other travel sites) do a crappy job of recommending hotels without nearby food selections.

Cheap for a reason

The hotel is conveniently located just off I 81 on the border into Virginia The linens and towels clean. Room smelled overly sanitized. Elevator and pool were both shutdown. Elevator by state, pool no idea why or who. Good point is a microwave and older dorm size refrigerator. They were redoing parking lot. Well lit. Tv got hbo for movies.

There was a mouse in the room. I watched it crawl across the couch and run across the floor. Not once but twice! I left the hotel afterwards and was told by the hotel I had to reach out to Expedia to receive a refund. I contacted Expedia which then said they had to contact the hotel. I was told I would not receive a refund. Absolutely disgusting and wrong!!!!

If you don't mind pets friends, it's fairly thicker, then they bet sheets out, it's a complete little cigarette from you and no bark from the back. Door to the facility and cigarette It's all over the countertops and rusted grits of ceiling child's you will love it
