Very clean and common areas spacious. Had to make my own bed and ask for a towel. No milk.... even no little pods which was a shame as i was dying for a tea

The wandarrah lodge is a really nice place to stay in merimbula. It's very close to the city, the lake and the beautiful beach. The owner is very very nice and helpful. He is very knowledgeable about the area and the best places to eat or visit. The establishment is very clean and the kitchen has all the utilities you could ever need (BBQ, toasters, waffle maker, compost, lots of cooking utensils etc.) The common area is also very nice and relaxing, with couches, tv, radio, pool, aquarium, etc. Throughout the hostel, there are many information documents about Australia and the area. Would definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful stay!

We had a great stay, Betty and Wayne were lovely and so accommodating. Facilities were always clean and our room was very spacious. It is also located right near a great swimming spot called mitchies jetty and also Merimbula Main Beach. We would definitely recommend and can’t wait to stay here again!

Great place!

Wayne was fab at being flexible for me as I was traveling by bus so arrived just after the check in time. The room was lovely and clean and the kitchen facilities were very large. Also have a lounge to watch TV with others which adds a nice touch! Would stay again for sure.

Nice, clean and comfortable

We took an overnight stay in the lodge. The staff was very much supportive though we checked in quite late in the night, they waited for us. Room was clean and cosy. Kitchen had all the basic necessities and appliances. Bathrooms were big and clean too. It felt like home and we had a wonderful stay.

Only one step above a youth hostel

Did not realise this room was simply a basic bed, similar to a YHA youth hostel. We had to make our own beds. Were not permitted to eat in our room. None of this was advertised in the Wotif advertisement.

Clean, affordable and friendly- great location!

Our family (2 adults, 2 children) had a very pleasant stay. We were at the accommodation for 2 nights on a last minute holiday. Basic, comfortable and affordable accommodation. We had our own bathroom however the shared facilities were just as amazingly clean and usable. We were able to use the communal kitchen and facilities.

It works fine if you just need to sleep and since it has a shared kitchen you can cook your food if you like as well. It feels a bit sterile with bathrooms feeling somewhat liek a school with basic communal facilities. The walls are not that thick eso you can sometimes hear other people walking about in corridors if they are up late or very early. It should be noted that the free wifi was capped pretty low (200 MB I think) but we managed to stay under that. Depending on your needs that might be a factor. All in all: a basic but ok choice for a nights sleep.

Nous y retournerons sans problème.

Nous sommes restés une nuitée dans une chambre double avec salle de bain privative. Idéalement situé, propre partout (zones privées et communes), accueuil très agréable à la réception. Grande cuisine commune super bien équipée. Wifi gratuit et plutôt correct (assez rare en Australie). Salle de télévision commune très agréable (nous y étions seuls!) 2 bémols: - nous avons reçu les draps à la réception et nous avons dû faire le lit nous-même (pas trop grave si on est dans l'esprit Backpacker...) - un peu plus embêtant: mon conjoint a eu une légère décharge électrique dans la salle de bain privative pendant qu'il prennait sa douche. Visiblement il y aurait une perte électrique dans l'installation. En dehors de ça, notre séjour était très agréable.

Feel at home by the beach in Merimbula!

Great and very reasonably priced private small lodge to stay on the way between Sydney and Melbourne or for holiday by the ocean. feel fery much at home with a beautiful fish tank, comfortable lounge for rest in the evening, clean and spacy kitchen. Great owner, very kind and friendly, pleasant to chat with. Very "at home" feeling once inside. Great for families and friends with different budgets for inexpensive but pleasant stay. A nice small cafe just outside and 150 mtrs to the beach.

Fantastic hostel-like place to stay

If you're looking for comfortable and clean accommodation and are on a budget, Wandarrah Lodge can't be beaten. Good facilities, big kitchen etc. And you're only a stone's throw from the surf! Will be my first choice when returning to Merimbula.

Recommend this hostel type hotel

Nice clean hostel like hotel with a large well equipped kitchen. Owner very friendly and helpful about where to go in the area and beyond. Gave us lots of useful information.
