"Spacious with 2 very comfy 2 seat sofas, a real plus after a long drive. Nothing stands out but a good place to stop if travelling from lower south island to Nelson area or Westport."

"We needed a stop over on the way to Nelson. The Amberley exceeded our expectations. Clean comfortable and great amenities. Bed was super comfortable and shower was hot! Fantastic"
Cottage within the magical gardens of Flaxmere

"This is a magical spot in Penny's incredible gardens! Even on soggy winter days, we enjoyed wandering the property, and the fire kept us toasty warm in the cottage. Our family enjoyed the thoughtful touches, tea/coffee and basics for cooking (oil, condiments). We loved having so much space to stretch out, and the comfy beds. The shower was unfortunately a piddle, extremely unsatisfying and took ages ages to rinse off. The place could have used a bit more of a thorough clean (especially bathroom and the drawers/floors in the bedrooms), but overall, it was fantastic value, warm and inviting, and a peaceful escape. We enjoyed talking to Penny, and reading about the history of the property. Hopefully we'll be back!"
