"This property and its host are simply outstanding. Located in the North Yorkshire countryside, the property is a converted barn, adjacent to the main farmhouse. While retaining the charm of the old structure, it has thoroughly modern kitchen and bathrooms. The is an en-suite bedroom on the ground floor as well as an en-suite bedroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom and bath open to a small sitting area that overlooks the living space below. The main living area has a large television mounted on the wall, which is great for watching a film or two. There is also a wood burning stove.The hosts have ensured that the property is well-equipped with every accessory. The kitchen has beautiful cookware and a modern dishwasher. Plates and glassware are a joy. The property is beautifully decorated. The heating system keeps the space warm but ample blankets to make things cozy. Beds are extremely comfortable and the bedding first-rate.Views from the property are magnificent. Sheep and cattle dot the hillside; there are ample paths for walks. In the distance, in all directions, there are beautiful hills. We were greeted warmly by the hosts who explained the property and the area as well as answering our questions. They are attentive but also make sure to give guests their space."

"Beautifully positioned above Goathland, this cottage offers stunning daytime views and an ideal setting for stargazing at night. The property is immaculately presented, and the welcome pack was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. The owner deserves high praise for the evident care and effort put into making guests feel at home. Michelle was exceptionally helpful, promptly addressing all of my questions prior to our arrival, and the departure process was seamless.Whitby is a short drive away for a more busy atmosphere and local history. "It is a fantastic place in a great location. Upon entry, we were impressed; obviously we had made a great choice. The house was clean & freshly prepared. We were there to ride the Flying Scotsman, so parking was not an issue & it was a 2-minute walk from the station (up a cobble path). The village has more than we realized. The Co-op closes at 4PM. Sleights is about 5-8 minutes down the road with a store open late. There's a couple of pubs, the one we visited had a lovely atmosphere. Across the river is the Old School Coffee Shop and train yard to explore. Parking: There is space in front of the house. It's a private, narrow road. Part way down, we turned around and backed in. We parked as close to the wall as we could. Entry: a great place to hang coats to warm them with storage for gloves and hats. Kitchen: The kitchen is cozy. Not too tight, but well designed for the space & well stocked. Lounge/Dining: The heart of the house. It's very spacious with a great view of nature across the river. You can sit and eat to the sounds of the river below. The extension does a decent job of cutting down noise. The bridge for the train is on the other side of the last property, and the footbridge is behind that, so plenty of privacy. Snug: Fantastic! Who doesn't like a small, tucked away space? Bedrooms: Two bedrooms, both with a bed that sleeps two. Quite comfortable & we slept well. Bathroom: Spacious. It's about 15 minutes to Whitby & a great location to explore the moors."
