Really enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere there was great and the staff are very friendly, however the restaurant service is a bit slow. The room was not big, but clean and comfortable, shower facilities a bit complicated as you could only sit in the tub. The hotel is centrally located in Soho. All in all, I was most pleased, even though I found that the price was a bit to high.
Want to stay close to Picadelly Circus and SoHo ? This hotel/Club is a great offer... resonable priced and including breakfast. Being a club, allows for the bar to have longer opening hours, which is nice. Still I'll categorize the room as being nice and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly and helpful staff and had a happy feel about the place.
Lots of stairs so no good for my partner's bad knees and I had thought that there would have been a lift.
First rate broadband reception.
No breakfast until 7.30 in the mornings on weekdays which I had to miss as I had a business appointment to get to.

Legendary but be warned
First the good news,
The Groucho is a legendary establishment that attracts a wide and eccentric cross section of members, revellers and guests.
The art collection is wonderful and a late drink at the bar is sure to not disappoint. There is a maze of private rooms that each have a different authentic London feel and display of contemporary art.
Nice Ren products in the rooms.
Now the bad news,
Pokey rooms at a premium with mediocre decor, I would have expected much more. Bathroom floor was dirty.....
Luggage has to be lugged up a lot of steps if you're on the top floors. Certain hallways smelled rank.
Leave your baggage at your own risk. Manager gave mine to two tourists who took it all the way to Heathrow and had to be sent back in a cab. Seems baggage tickets are a difficult task for the Groucho....
It's your call.
Groucho is not a hotel and people need to be aware of that when making comparisons. It is however one of London's most famous clubs, in a fantastic location and its services are well above standard. I have stayed there twice now and what I have found more than anything is that the service is excellent, personal and nothing is too much bother. If what you are after is a good value residence, in a fantastic location with the benefit of access to an excellent bar and restaurant, this is the place.
Much better than expected and a really fun night in the bar. Staff at front desk and in bar very good and food also better than expected (though quite expensive).
It was up three flights of stairs but we were warned of that. The room was small but comfortable. Would have preferred a kettle to the Nespresso machine, which I think makes horrid coffee. Lack of shower mentioned by other visitors was not a problem. Breakfasts were nicely served in a pleasant dining room. It was nice to have a drink in the bar and they served us tea there in the afternoon too.
Provided you can cope with the stairs I would recommend the hotel as a nice experience.
Fantastic & convenient location. Art work & decor amazing. Great bar, great breakfast, (and breakfast room!).
Perfect for our one night at Ronnie Scott's, it is a club with rooms, not a hotel. Well worth it for one night.
Skal bo her næste gang 110%!!!!

Tiny room, nowhere to put suitcase. Lovely staff at reception. Food in restaurant not so good. Breakfast OK. Wouldn't stay here again, for the money I expected it to be first class, but it wasn't. Lovely bathroom. Don't open the gift box of toiletries, its not free
I booked this hotel the Wednesday before going. Initially know what to expect. After arriving lunchtime I was told that my room was not ready but they would do their best to book me on early. Soho in daylight is not appealing as it is after dark. We were there to watch led mis. This location was perfect. In recent years we have stayed in the Dorchester. But this hotel I really enjoyed quirky and discreet famous amongst the arts and media. I did not feel at of place. Only one negative when I arrived and asked for a glass of Prosecco the barman had reminded me that they only sold champagne and Prosecco had a bad reputation good job I not from Italian origin!!!
Make sure of ask for a room in the back of the hotel... ESPECIALLY if you are staying on the weekends. Soho is the epicenter of nightlife and "into-the-morning-life" in London. I didn't know to ask and got a room on the third floor right on the street and was up the entire night between the nightlife crazy and then the beer bottle pick up by the garbage trucks at the crack of dawn.
Other than that(!) I would highly recommend...
If you want a minuscule room, unchanged sheets, a 3-floor walk up a narrow staircase with your luggage, all of that in a really nice neighborhood, and a very quiet club great to work from -- this is your place.
The Groucho Club is definitely a club with rooms rather than a hotel so don't expect full hotel facilities but the buzzy, happening atmosphere, great bars and great food, which usually only members and their guests have access to, more than make up for it. Due to the nature of the building, the rooms are up windy, narrow staircases and there are no lifts. Rooms small but characterful with wifi, tv, coffee makers and nice toiletries, big towels and robes in the bathroom. Reception staff and waiting staff are particularly charming and helpful. As it is in the middle of Soho, it can be a little noisy outside, but it is a fantastic location with every kind of bar and restaurant within walking distance.
Great places to hang out, and wonderful location. Being picky, the bathroom seemed to have seen better days. Best thing about the place is the service and the people working there!

One night at Groucho
The bad? Broken safe (no central safe available) and memories of showering with a hand-held shower (in this day and age!) with luke-warm water was disappointing. The room was out the back, next to 24/7 droning aircon units, so not the best peace and quiet. The good? Clean, comfy bed, good breakfast, handy location - but overall not a value choice.
was really very good. It was something very different to stay at the Groucho as it is a members only club and as a lover of the theatrical world I found it very interesting. Overall the service was efficient without being over powering and the atmosphere was chic and felt very home from home. Watch out on the extras though. Everything is charged extra to the bill including the bottled water placed by the bedside which we found incredible. One of our group was charged for something from the minibar that he didn't use but the amount was refunded. So overall a very good visit and one to be repeated.
Not sure where to begin here other than list the issues (by the way, this is the first time I have complained about a hotel and the only reason is because of the price I paid):
1. This isn't a hotel - it is a Private Members club with some rooms.
2. The room we stayed in (#202) is almost at the top of the building - quite hard to find without a lift.
3. Checked in went to our room and found two suitcases in there.
4. The bath had a chip in it.
5. Walls were dirty and dusty and had chips.
6. The bed was a double, this is fine but the price I paid I would expect at least a King.
7. The bed was positioned directly under two windows. These windows were not double-glazed therefore allowed a charming breeze into the room (so we slept with our feet at the headboard). This I could just about deal with, the noise that came through from the street was horrendous. I totally get Soho and it was a Friday night but the noises were going on all night - this is no exaggeration - ALL NIGHT!!!! Screams, bottles smashing, laughing, music, police sirens.
We were so disappointed that we wanted leave but we ran the risk of not getting a refund - this was explained to us by the hotel. This is a spare room for private members to stay not for paying customers.

Zentrale Lage
Achtung kein Lift!
