The staff were very friendly. Parking outside on the street was easy. The breakfast was really good (though cooked breakfast was an extra charge but we did not mind). The bed was softer than we like which is why I out the comfort at 4 but we would definitely stay here again if we were heading to the Cotswold area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful. The chef cooked one of the most delicious partridge that i have ever had (and I've eaten a few)
What a find. I will be back. I loved this pub and rooms. Beautifully presented and decorated. Food for dinner and breakfast was great. I loved all the candles and furnishings and the fire lit on a slightly chilly morning at breakfast was lovely. I’d definitely recommend the bell inn.
Parking is on the streets near by so as long as mindful of residents it really isn’t an issue. It a very quiet village
I stayed two nights at The Bell as I know it well and which is close to family who I was visiting. This was however the first time I have had a room and I really enjoyed my stay; and would particularly like to acknowledge both Danny and Jo for their excellent support. I choose to eat in both evenings with family joining me and we really enjoyed the food and the ambience in the bar / restaurant. In all I had a very relaxing few days in comfortable surroundings in a great location, and intend to visit The Bell again in the future. KimB.
Stayed one night and had a meal in the restaurant.
Lovely, cosy tradition village inn. Open fire in the hearth. Candles on the tables.
Service was attentive, friendly and polite. Food was full of flavour. The flourless chocolate cake was amazing!
Continental breakfast was excellent. Delicious granola and fruits with creamy yogurt, warm croissants, cereals and more!
Rooms were comfortable, cosy and clean.
Only issue was the winter weight duvet - it was so hot! Even with the window open we found it difficult to sleep. Maybe offer lower togg duvets?
Other than that we had a lovely stay and meal. Would recommend.
A VERY popular & busy pub.
Positives: Room clean, tidy & smelt nice. Good water pressure for an old pub with plenty of hot water. Great shower and complimentary toiletries. Nice having an Nespresso machine with complementary cookies, as well as the usual tea and coffee sachets. Good continental breakfast, with the option for cooked food at an additional cost. Staff friendly and helpful.
Negatives: Room 2 was quite small. Very noisy, dont expect to get to sleep before 23:30, if you're lucky. No parking. Parking on the road near the pub was pot luck. Very hot room, although they did provide a fan. Be aware there are some stairs to the room, we struggled a bit, but no option to change as fully booked.
First, the brickbats. We both ordered calves liver, specified v pink. Arrived grey. Asked for replacement, which was provided. Wine menu v pricey, yet wine glasses thick cheap canteen version. Salt/ pepper served loose in dishes, not smart in COVID season. The ensuite room was v comfy, but in need of some Tlc: shower tiles v dirty, small, impractical makeup mirror on desk, one bare sloping shelf above sink for toothbrush, etc.
Now the bouquets. Breakfast was delicious and extensive, service in general cheerful and courteous. Good complimentary toiletries, good towels and bed linen.
Overall, the Bell deserves its popularity, though I fear the finer aspects of cooking and presentation are getting lost amid the pressure of serving so many simultaneously. Like so many, just hope it doesn't get ruined by its success.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
i liked the location, log fires, friendly staff and excellant food
i didn't like the garden area - it was overgrown and uncared for i would have liked to sit outside and enjoy the autum sunshine with a glass of wine but it was not in a fit state to use. i didn't like the shower / wet room which had a mirror so high i couldn't see in it and the room flooded so badly it was only possible for one of use to use the wet room in the morning. i was disappointed staff had not cleaned our room by the time we returned from a day out at 4pm. staff did say they would come and clean the room but by that time it was not convienient. i would also have liked a more comfy cosy bar area to relax but appriciate this might be had to accomodate.

A slightly disappointing birthday night away
Room 3 is noisy until the industrial extractor fan (which runs up the wall behind the headboard)for the kitchen gets turned off at night approx 9.30pm.Plus the bed shakes when the kitchen door is closed downstairs. We did ask if there was a quieter room available and there were some but at a premium of course.
Very dark coloured room which could do with some of the paintwork attending to. Lighting in room 3 was either three bright spot light bulbs directly above the bed in a row which felt like you were being interrogated or two bedside bulbs one very poor. TV you don't get a clear image when you lay down and the remote won't turn it off so you have to get out of bed and turn off at wall socket which is behind the tv itself.
No full length mirror.
No hair dryer.
No WiFi information.
Pub dining tables poorly lit in some areas, I saw one table trying to read their menus with their phone torches. Although we did like the candle on the table and open fire.
Food was ok but attention to detail could be much improved. Basic white crockery. Desserts were £9 for jelly and custard which strangely was served on a plate.
Sticky toffee pudding looked like a microwaved upside down dome with a blob of ice cream dumped on top.
I personally feel presentation could be much improved.
Staff were pleasant enough.
Car park with approx spaces.
Outdoor seating.
Beautiful property with a lovely bar and restaurant. Unfortunately we didnt get chance to eat there but would love to revist again. Staff were friendly and put on a really nice breakfast spread (continental). Room was spacious, comfortable and well decorated with a nice wetroom-style bathroom. 100% would stay again!
