  • Lake George Steamboat Company offers a variety of tours and tour lengths on three different boats. This is the Mohican, their largest. The trip was about 2.5 hours, cost about $23 per person and traveled from the southern point of the lake to about half way north. There is a snack bar but I did not visit it. There is commentary talking about the history of the lake, area and some of the houses. It was a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

This place is so unique, just so special. We LOVED our stay. The rooms have character and history. The patio has a giant fireplace outside and we sat there chatting with other guests enjoying the lake view. Food in the restaurant is excellent. If you can book a room - note they are typically full - it'll be the wonderful experience.

Erlowest staff is incredible. They make it feel like home. Wild boar slider and coconut shrimp outstanding. Wild boar had excellent authentic and cultural flavor. Breakfast outstanding. Staff did walkthrough with us and helped us with any small request we had. Rooms are spacious and quiet getaway. I would recommend a stay at Erlowest to anyone and everyone.

We were warmly welcomed, and check-in was super speedy. This was particularly nice, because of the several hours drive to get here. There was a small baggage cart, readily available for our use. Upon entering our room, it was opulent and spacious with exquisite views. (The Horicon Suite). We had a couple of small issues the first night. Staff had forgotten to turn on the A/C in our room, and it showed 80F on the thermostat., and one of the remote controls for the TV had dead batteries. The latter problem was discovered hours later, and they sent maintenance staff to assist. During their visit, they volunteered to also get us a fan, to better circulate the air in our room, which was still cooling. Those two gentlemen were stellar and definitely deserve to be commended. The rest of our stay was every bit as serene and pleasant as we expected. The facility is charming and beautiful, and the grounds are well manicured and picturesque.

Perfect romantic setting

Wonderful romantic setting. Perfect room for watching the sunrise over the mountains. The room is quaint but perfect for a couple with the 2 person Jacuzzi and gas fired fireplace steps from the king size bed.

Lake George getaway

My wife and I spent a couple of nights for our anniversary. Stately 1894 mansion successfully converted to a bed and breakfast. Fabulous food and drink, great staff, beautiful views of lake from both lower patio and upper deck. Outside dining as well with fireplace on patio.

We can’t say enough about our stay here. The Castle was beautiful! Attention to details by the staff. All going above and beyond to make your experience the best. Intimate locations with throughout the facilities. The fine dinning in an igloo was the best. Hats off to you he chef. If your looking for a romantic weekend away this is your place. We will be back.
