Had a great stay. There were 2 adults and 3 children in the same room. Room was clean, comfy and just what we needed for a great price. Staff were very friendly and helpful even though it was busy. Breakfast for the price it was, was great.

Nice and clean place with a lake nearby. Staff was very accommodating even before we checked-in. We stayed in a room good for 3 people and it was cramped. The beds squeeked a lot too. For the price, we expected something better... but then we were just there for a couple nights, so it was ok. Perhaps the cabins would have been nicer for longer stays.

Pros: the view was breathtaking, the restaurant was amazing, the activities were amazing, the location was near lots of attractions, the price was decent.
Cons: the room was not comfortable, the mattress was firm, the toilet was very poor (very very outdated; must be renovated), the shower was not working properly.
We planned a weekend adventure up to the Cairngorms for some watersports and walking.
Insch Hall was the ideal setting, being situated on the same site as the Loch Insch Outdoor Centre. We had access to several activities and on-site dining at the centre boathouse.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Reception was straight forward upon arrival.
The only thing was that others staying in and around the building caused some noise disruptive late at night, but we realise this likely isn't the norm and we might've just been unlucky on this visit.
Very far away, not recommended for a short stay unless with kids for outdoor activities. Property too old , room too small , not worth the price . Hot and cold water in the bathroom was not run properly, get scolded.
The room didn’t match the pic of the room on the site. The room resembled an old youth hostel room with a few soft furnishings. The rooms wasn’t clean. Hair, and stains abound. Noisy too, (after 11pm) not ideal for families with younger children.
We stayed in a family room . 2 singles and 1 bunk for 4 people. Insh Hall. Warm shower, un-suite WC rather cramped but clean with fresh towels. Hospitable and welcoming staff, kids enoyed the complementary room hot choc and caramel bars ! Beds very comfortable as was the option of pillows. Spacious communal mutli use room with table tennis, TV, film and board games corner, dining tables with hot water, fridge and even a microwave. Location was fantastic, 2 mins stroll to the outdoor Insh activity centre and Loch view all day restaurant. Free zipwires and play areas for big kids and small! Recommend the Kayaks but have a change of clothes (waist down) with shoes or hire a wet suit! Will be back for more activities including the onsite dry snow slope. Carpark was safe and away from public moving traffic.
Staff did ok but overall lack of menu options and closed bar due to no license meant we had to go elsewhere and there was nothing nearby. Ok for 1 night but noted after day 1 in the evening as nothing to do.
Water sports were limited and there seemed little creativity in providing activities for customers.

Starting to look a bit old in places. Was no alcohol available as they were between licenses which was annoying
Reception only opened 4-5pm.
Pictures a bit decieving as accommodation is not in the same location as The BoatHouse but up the hill.
Our family room was just approximately 11ft wide, and long enough for a double bed, a small space to walk around, then the bunk beds. A shower room was also in this space.

Overpriced
For nearly $100 my sister and I stayed one night in a camp dorm room with bunk beds and a shared bathroom. I could hear the people in the adjacent room snoring because of how thin the walls were in our 6 m2 closet sized room. The hotel is a bit retro, which is fine, but for the price it needs some updating.
Joke's on me I guess since I booked such a small room at that price point.
