This hotel is very dated, but was clean. However they could greatly benefit from investing some money in their linens. The bedsheets were very old and threadbare with holes that had been mended. The towels were also old & threadbare. The bathroom door wouldn't close & the AC could use some servicing. We were not able to cool the room enough so we had to leave the window open at night which resulted in poor sleep due to the prayer calls from the mosques. The staff however were amazing as was the location.

Great service and wonderful Turkish breakfast with many choices on the beautiful rooftop terrace. There was an elevator which helped us tremendously after long days of touring. The location is excellent to see the top sites of the city and its steps away from the tram which runs frequently. If you want to stay in the old city this Is and excellent choice.

You can’t get a better location than this hotel, all the important historical places are in walking distance from Nomade hotel. Top terase has an amazing view. Breakfast is included and has good options and it’s very tasty.

I had a very nice stay in Nomad hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is fantastic, and the rooftoop terrace makes for an unforgetable breakfast experience. Only minus: you can hear all the noise from the corridor, but there are only few rooms on each floor so it wasnt too bad.

The location is amazing; almost everything you’ll want to see is a short walking distance from the hotel. The staff are incredible; very friendly and always willing to help/offer suggestions. The breakfast is great! The beds are small, but I found very comfortable. Negatives being: very small rooms, a loud fridge that we had to unplug, and an ant problem in the washroom.

Great Hotel in the Perfect Location in the city!

A great hotel in the perfect location for 5 nights stay in Istanbul. The staff were friendly and helpful during my stay and the rooms were very comfortable. The bathroom/shower were good (I'm quite particular with bathrooms). Breakfast on the rooftop each morning was amazing! Only a few minutes walk to Ayasofia and Sultanahmet mosques. Perfect location to all the sites and restaurants in the city. Highly recommended and would stay again if I visit the city again.

Our stay at the Nomads was fantastic. Our room overlooked the street in front and our window opened so we could get fresh air and look out. The room was great. Oscar and other front desk gentleman were very helpful and friendly. Arranged transport and tour.s.

Location, location, location. Close to everything, main attractions are a walking distance. Good restaurants around it. Breakfast in the roof top with beautiful views. The staff is a bit rude, but from my one-day experience in Istanbul, that's normal there.

My husband and I were staying in the hotel for 7 nights, the staff were very nice, and helpful, specially Ozkan, he was so friendly and specially helful. Nomade Oldcity Hotel is close to everything, very convenient.The bathrooms need to be updated, there was a leaking water outside the bathroom floor. Thank you Nomade Hotel staff for all the help and kidness.

Superb location for Old Town Instanbul but be prepared for the “call to prayer” at 5am every morning! Veery easy walking of major mosques and Bosporous but take comfortable walking shoes. Fantastic choice of restaurants and terraces over looking the Bosbporous. Fantastic base for seeing Istanbul. Excellent value-money.

This hotel is beyond excellent. Id give it ten stars if i could! I stayed here ten years ago and enjoyed it then; the rooms have since been renovated, and it is really just a perfect spot. The staff are amazing, the brrakfast is outstanding, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, and the views from the two terraces are mind boggling. I lived in Istanbul for ten years, have visited often before and after that, and can say with confidence that this hotel offers everything a traveller needs. I will stay here every time I come to Istanbul.

Honest review alert - overall Nomade was better than expected but I will point out a few things to keep in mind. Positives- customer service was excellent. Selman was the most gracious and helpful customer service person we have ever dealt with anywhere. Ask him about tours and shops and he will give honest advice, and may be able to save you a couple bucks on a booking. Oscar and breakfast chef were also exceptional- Great location.Steps to the blue mosque, Aya Sofia, transport, the Roman Hippodrome, and all the restaurants, shops, and hookah joints you could ask for. SAFE area. There was not a hint of any safety concerns- free breakfast was traditional Turkish with many options served. For foreigners used to salty meats and pancakes, you won't find a lot to sate your cravings. But if you have a wide palate, you'll be satisfied. - Rooftop terrace where breakfast was served - what a view of the Aya Sofia, etc. Amazing. Terrace open til midnight but no food or drinks for sale. We were served tea and a pastry for free when we arrived before our room was ready. Grab some takeout and beer from a local store and enjoy the terrace one night. Not great attributes - keep in mind all the positives above and the PRICE of the hotel. - noisy - we had room 404, right under the terrace level, 5, and without our earplugs, the noise from guests upstairs would have woken us up early. The fridges are too loud for light sleepers without earplugs. Bring earplugs, solved. - aesthetically not grea

If you don’t mind a dirty room, great location

The location is very good. Right across the street from the blue mosque and walking distance to many attractions. Tramway stop a block away. The room was as to be expected but there is much noise from adjacent rooms, the water heater was on the roof of our room so constant noise. Typical Turkish Breakfast in a rooftop patio who at night has amazing views. I won’t return to this hotel because is the lack of cleanliness. I had to complain every day if my stay because their concept of clean varies significantly from mine. The glass cups in the room were filthy as well as the mugs and the coffee jug. We washed everything the first day and the cleaning lady never bothered to clean them. She just left them as they were. Had to go up to the 5th floor to get clean ones ourselves in the daily. On top of this the floor wasn’t swept not mopped since we arrived. Various signs of lack of attention to detail in the cleaning department in the restroom. The staff was courteous but I wouldn’t go as far as to call them friendly with the exception of one of the guys at reception who went the distance.

Wonderful location across the street from Sultanahmet square. Tram lines are just outside and very convenient. Breakfast was fine, but the cooked eggs were cold because they had no warming plate and the drip coffee machine was way too small for the amount of people eating there. It was often empty. Get used to the sounds of the city and the restaurant hawkers outside trying to sell food and drinks. Nothing unusual for such a highly tourist city: the same happens all over. BUT what was unexpected and not welcome at all was our front desk clerk becoming annoyed and frustrated at me because we didn't book any tours with him. We came to see Istanbul, taking the trams and ferries and seeing the sights. We had no interest in an *8 hour* bus expedition or a Bosphorus tour with whirling dervish show. We asked for a simple quiet dinner cruise to see the sights but they didn't offer anything but a full tourist dinner-and-show package. We tried to work with them but none of their tours were what we enjoy doing. I understand they must get kickbacks from booking these, but I've NEVER had a hotel clerk get angry at me for not taking their tour packages. Also: he wanted us to give him our Istanbul transit cards before we left? Like a bum at a subway station. What a terrible impression. Lastly, he kept asking us to pay our bill in CASH EUROS rather than credit card on file w Expedia. I use my credit card for security and points, why would I leave the app to pay cash? Shady.
