Comfortable stay

We only spent one night before a family wedding and the room was fresh and clean, it was a comfort to be able to relax before we headed off but next time we visit we’ll book longer. Lovely guest house nice and quiet area for the most part I would recommend

Lovely and clean Guest House in a very safe area overlooking the Harbour Area,Room and bed very comfortable and tea and coffee maker provided. There war no heater in the toilet and shower area in my room which made it very cold,but overall a very pleasent stay.

Great stay

The room was lovely and clean and modern. Great location. The only downside was the shower- it wouldn’t keep a constant temperature (room 7). It was rather difficult to shower when it kept going boiling hot and then freezing cold

Clean and fresh room and comfy beds.. kettle far too small.. no heating in bathroom therefore did not have a shower but bedroom was nice and warm for November.. Owner was helpful when required.. Overall it was fine and would stay again..

Nice stay

On arrival we were shown to our room and discovered there was no power, so we informed the owner and within minutes he arrived and we tried to solve the problem. Turns out the fridge in our room was faulty and kept tripping the electricity. We were then moved out of the room and upgraded to a larger room. They took good care of us and were most helpful and pleasant. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and throughout the property was lovely clean decor. In each room there is a book of the history of the building and a list of local places to eat and visit. Would recommend this place and would gladly stay there again

I liked the place at first; the cleaning staff were nice. I would give a higher star for the property and service overall except the following: Unfortunately, I couldn't get into my room right away due to a "plumbing issue" the first night. This issue returned two nights later with sewage coming up in my shower. The owner/manger seemed nice but then wouldn't return calls/email/messages to me or Travelocity to refund money (for one night that he agreed I could leave early and then the 2nd night when I left due to the sewage in my shower.) I reached out several times to discuss the already agreed-upon refund for the one night and the issue with the sewage for the second night.)

Room was quite clean, bathroom layout was awful. Sink was like a children’s nursery sink and shower was very small. The bed was awful contacted owner to let them know I had stripped bed and got rid of the rubbish and with my complaint near end of stay but got no response. I have since seen other reviews stating the bed was awful. Quite expensive considering it was very basic no food included etc. very disappointed as this hotel was recommended to me by family that I was visiting 4 nights was very uncomfortable. Comfortable big room.

Enjoyed my stay lovely big room and bathroom. Comfortable bed plenty of storage. Had a fridge and microwave as they don't provided breakfast. Loved friendly staff. Only complaint room was cold couldn't get heating to work.

Perfect location for arts centre. Property is tired & run down at the back especially. Small room with the most bizarre bathroom configuration. But served its purpose for the night .Never saw any staff/host at all...which was ok for us.

The room would have been good if I had booked a hotel room but I had booked a self catering studio in which I could have my two dogs. Despite five phone calls and various messages via Expedia to try to sort it out, most of which went unanswered, we still ended up in an ordinary hotel room which I was told was a ‘studio’. We were allowed to have dogs there, for which I am very grateful, however there were no facilities for self catering and it was a simple, fairly small bedroom with en-suite bathroom. As I said, absolutely fine if that was what you wanted.

I booked a room in the guest house but got a message on the day re: mix-up with another guest, so I'd been "upgraded" to self-contained studio instead. Very cold November weather out, but when I arrived c7pm no heating on, roller blinds up (no curtains) - very cold room/studio, no heater in shower room. Very small too. "Dog friendly" therefore minimal soft furnishings - bare laminate floors, wipe-clean furniture. Felt v clinical and cold (literally). Kept coat and boots on for 90mins waiting for air to warm a little. Bathroom un-useable (too chilly). Disappointed for the price - wasn't cheap. Alerted host and asked for extra heater - no reply. Will avoid remote hosts in future and be suspicious of "upgrades"!

Two night stay in Marina View Guest House

Lovely accommodation. All you could possibly need and very clean. Excellent location as so handy for shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee houses and beach. Lovely walks. Car parked right outside my window. Felt safe as a solo traveller.
