Pretty Property on Lovely Grounds

The hotel is about half a mile or so off the coast and it's nestled in its own grounds across the road from some nice public paths with beach access. The hotel is in lovely shape, and been decorated very tastefully throughout. Our large bed was very comfortable, and the room's client controls were easy to use. We had a nice shower, but if I booked again and had the option of a room with a full bath, I'd request it. Bar, Orangery and Dining Room had high standards, and a good selection of wine and local beer. Breakfast was cooked to order and included offerings from Cley Smoke House, which I highly recommend. I'd have preferred a slightly later check out, but otherwise the hotel was a nice find.

Superior room good. Bar man good. Unfortunate about the refurbishments restricting areas. However the prevalence of dogs in the restaurant area and in the bar was really off putting. Not only the barking but one or two dogs were really smally and this purveyed the bar and restaurant. So much so we had to move to the back of the bar lounge to get some respite. Not good for someone like myself who is allergic to furry animals. Cannot understand why people need to come out for the evening for 1.5hrs and bring the dog. Just leave it at home or in the car, they are not your children, they are animals. next time I will bring my pet pig. But you encourage this as dog friendly. Hope that brings success for you as I will not be back.

What a gem!

The hotel was really lovely and tastefully decorated. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed dinner on both nights of our stay - the food was excellent. The room was a bit hot on arrival but we turned off the radiators and used the fan - air-conditioning would have been nice, but isn't installed (although this would then make the hotel not so eco-friendly!).

New Year let down

3 couples booked their 2-night New Year package to meet up and celebrate New Year, Although the hotel staff and food was very good there was NO music or any New Celebration what so ever............very disappointed

A cosy romantic weekend away.

A very comfortable quality hotel with friendly and helpful staff. High cleanliness generally with good Covid precautions. We booked last minute for a weekend romantic break and just wished we could have stayed longer. Excellent food at both breakfast and dinner. It is well placed for North Norfolk’s attractions. Not cheap but good value for money. We shall be back!

Lovely country getaway. Lovely people and hotel. Could have done with more staff as they were very stretched at times and a fan in the room could have done with air con as it was stifling in bedrooms at night. But we really enjoyed our stay. Food was superb.
