Well-loved farm

The property is really well cared for despite its age. The couple who owns the farm is very kind and accommodating. They've intentionally curated a very homey and friendly vibe at this property. I really enjoyed staying here.

Useful Location for Diamond Beach

This was reasonably priced accommodation in a good location for visiting the Diamond Beach and glacier. The room was comfortable and breakfast was included. I had to contact the property about check in time which was a little challenging, but it all worked out. I would happily stay here again.

Positive: Super beautiful location, you can see 3 glaciers from the property. Its rustic but functional and quite nice, clean and with a great breakfast spread. Access road was not paved but the property is less than 1/2 mile from the main road so access it not an issue even without a 4x4. It does have an onsite restaurant which in this part of the world is a big plus. Negative: price is way too high especially given the fact that it is 30 mins from nearest town. There is nothing to do in the evening other than walking on the back of the property (with views) Biggest problem (the reason why this is not a 5-star) the beds had some kind of bugs or spiders (unclear which) that made super big marks with swealings on our limbs. It happened overnight. If this is cleaned up then this is a 5-star location

Our trio booked the warm and cozy cottage, with its own parking, 2 comfy bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious dining room and lounge, speedy Wi-Fi and private deck, from where we viewed the northern lights (don't forget the key!). The accommodation was immaculate. The shower drained slowly, but we were forewarned of the issue. The breakfast buffet was varied and hearty; don't miss the homemade lamb pâté and jams! We found Hólmur Farm to have the most beautiful view while having breakfast in Iceland. The owners were genial. We enjoyed our peaceful stay, near Höfn, and would happily stay again, but for a longer duration, when Jón Ríki is open!

Absolutely AVOID this

The check in time was a window of 2 hours! From 5 pm - 7 pm. The network in Iceland is very patchy yet we found a way to call them because we were running late. They did not receive the call. We called hotels.com and informed them of the situation but they couldn't reach them around 8 pm either. We decided not to make the 1 hour detour to go to a hotel that probably isn't even open. We disputed the transaction but our credit card company couldn't do anything since this was a non-refundable booking. Their INFLEXIBLE check in time and terrible customer service makes this the worst place I have ever booked.

J’ai passé un assez bon sejour de deux nuit à holmur farm. Le petit dejeuner est top, et la chambre plutot confortable. Je n’ai pas cuisiné dans la cuisine. Seul bémol c’est que ce soit ay milieu de nulle part, toutefois peu convenir pour un arret près de hofn. Les hotes étaient accueillants et serviables.

Nous avons passé une nuit à Hólmur Farm, idéalement situé entre Skaftafell et Höfn, dans un cadre calme et avec une vue splendide sur le glacier. L’environnement paisible nous a permis d’observer des aurores boréales, ce qui a rendu notre séjour unique. L’accueil a été agréable, bien que nous ayons ressenti un léger manque de chaleur de la part des hôtes le lendemain notamment lors du petit déjeuner. Cet hébergement accueillant de nombreux visiteurs, l’ambiance peut devenir bruyante, notamment en raison des salles de bain communes et de certains hôtes peu soucieux de la vie en communauté. Malgré ces points, le cadre et le calme environnant ont fait de ce séjour une belle expérience. Nous aurions apprécié un peu plus de sympathie des propriétaires pour rendre ce lieu encore plus chaleureux.

Il signore alla reception che è dentro il ristorante Jon Riki ci ha accolto un'ora prima. Non parla bene inglese, ma molto gentile. Per cena potevi prendere quantità illimitata di 3 zuppe (una era vegetariana, una di agnello con vegetali, una di pesce). Buona colazione con frutta, cose dolci e salate

Nella vecchia fattoria, ia ia o!

Molto gentile la tipa (probabilmente la proprietaria) che ci ha accolto per il check-in, con cui abbiamo fatto anche due chiacchiere. L'ambiente e' molto rustico (ovviamente) ma non spartano, abbiamo dormito in quella che probabilmente e' stata una stalla, ora ristrutturata e abbastanza accogliente. Avere la vista sul pollaio probabilmente non e' il massimo, ma dopotutto siamo in una fattoria... :) La cucina in condivisione si trovava separata in un altro edificio a pochi metri (con altre stanze), piccola e molto poco accessoriata, ma per una pastasciutta e' andata piu' che bene. Ottima la colazione inclusa nel prezzo, il buffet e' ricco di frutta (anche esotica), formaggi, salumi, e le consuete brioches con marmellate fatte in casa, crema spalmabile, succhi di frutta, eccetera. Ottima ospitalita' e rapporto qualita'/prezzo. Consigliato.
