We loved our stay at Rose and Crown! The staff were so friendly. Our room had so much character, and was bigger than we would have expected. It was quite comfortable and surprisingly quiet (we were there midweek on a slightly rainy day). We also ate at the pub and really enjoyed our meal. We would stay again!
We stayed for one night, our first stay here.
Very convenient for visiting our son.
Very friendly staff.
Generous, clean, private room.
Would stay again.
Thank you
What a gem! If you are looking for a charming and affordable place to stay in the London area, look no further. Located in adorable Godalming and a quick 45-min train ride into the heart of London, the Rose and Crown was perfect for our family of 4. We stayed in the Juliet room, which has two separate sleeping areas: a very comfortable queen bedroom with en-suite, and a secluded little Hobbit room for kids (the beds are small, so it’s not ideal for taller teenagers). The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the gal serving breakfast twice prepared us a to-go pastry box for us to eat on the train as we raced out the door in the morning. On this vacation, we stayed in 5 different inns across England, and Rose and Crown was our favorite.
A lovely old pub. Quite simple but very clean and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The blinds let light in which was a bit annoying, also being a pub meant a constant supply of noisy punters leaving, but this stopped at around midnight then it was lovely and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I arrived a few hours early, but my room was available immediately. A lovely room with modern bathroom. I was in the single, which served my needs very well. Well heated. No problem with noise. Very close to train station. Godalming is a beautiful town.
Charming Inn with inviting pub and patio below. Room with a view. small bunk bed for young kida. Comfortable bed for adults.
Remember this was built long ago--so the steep stairs and narrow passages are part of the charm. bathroom up a flight of stairs. Everyone enjoyed the pub and food and it was quiet after 11. Great location.

Bed and especially pillows really uncomfortable . Shower useless .

Nice idea, poorly executed
Very old building (as in 15th century) which is interesting, but a badly done cheap conversion in terms of fixtures, fitting, workmanship. The single electric heater in the room wasn't switched on until we arrived at 7pm, when it read 7°C! Took until about midnight to get to 21°C - luckily we were out for most of the evening. Towels & toilet wall had dubious marks on them. Fire alarm went off at 9am Sunday morning, we awoke, rushed to get presentable, got outside, to be told it was a test! Staff were lovely, location great, but I'm afraid I wouldn't stay there again.
Room was clean and as described, plenty of bedding and towels, simple breakfast but freshly baked croissants was a win :) steep stairs up to our room and to the bathroom - it is noted on the description but high potential for slipping/hitting your head!
Property was lovely rooms need somesort of air conditioning as were very warm breakfast was good but needs some healthier options like fat free yoghurt ,whole meal toast , poached eggs, bar food needs the same too
