Beauty is in the detail

Bed IN A REAL BAD SHAPE (like my back after this terrible night). TV does not work and the remote control is disgustingly dirty anyway. The hotel entrance is in the dark, and of course with the rain I fall down Only positive point: the lady at the desk is extremely nice..

Booed to have a night away just the two of us then due to family circumstances we could no longer manage our booking, the staff were great when I contacted the hotel contacted and we then decided to bring the kids, this was promptly arranged. When we arrived our room was really big and the kids were really happy. The room was a tad on the dark side for me but that’s jut my taste however it was very in keeping with the style of the room. My wee boy had an accident in the way back at night and the lovely lady on the desk made him some toast! Breakfast was great and the hotel is very central we would stay again

The Alfred

Hotel was lovely and staff very welcoming. The heating was set a bit too high for me, and the shower isn’t the most powerful. There was also a dressing table in my room, but no chair or mirror nearby, which made getting ready to go out a bit tricky. Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was great.

Great night away from the kids at The Alfred.

This was perfect for a night away in the West End. We were attending a concert at Oran Mor nearby and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were very welcoming. My only criticism is that the shower was not the best. I realise that our room was at the top of the property, so pressure is an issue. but I'm sure it could be improved somehow.

Charming hotel in good location for the university. Pleasant staff. Continental breakfast included. Lovely large bedroom with comfortable bed and en-suite shower room. I arrived late and had to leave early so didn’t spend much time at the hotel but it was clean and pleasant and I would certainly stay there again.

We stayed here at the recommendation of the Rick Steve's books and it was a good stay. The staff was able to accommodate us and let us into the room several hours before normal check in, and carried suitcases up the two flights of winding stairs. The room was clean, with a wide bed (seemed bigger than an American "double" bed), an excellent view of the street below due to the large windows, and hot water. The hotel is on the older side, so the shower was on the very small side and one of the windows didn't completely close. Breakfast was very pleasant with an assortment of juices and hot drinks, cereals, toasting breads and bagels, yogurt with toppings, and pastries. We started breakfast a little early because of a train we needed to catch and the staff was very accommodating.

Great location. Nice place to stay. Generous continental style breakfast. Nice staff. Only niggle is the toilet seat was very loose making it uncomfortable to sit on. A simple thing to sort surely. Otherwise happy thanks.

Good location, between 2 subway stops, each 10-15 min walk away. Hill head is walkable to U district and shops/ bars. Room was very nice, cold breakfast choices fine. Exterior landing needs some help. Google maps don't get directions right. Follow the one sign pointing up stairs.

Great hotel, exellent service, great location! Only thing is that the hotelroom had A LOT of dust in places you don’t need to clean everyday, but seemed never to have been cleaned ever. Like the bathroom fan, behind the tv on the cords, behind the bed and under. Also on the night stands.
