Been enjoying our stay so much! Such a great place! It’s not that close to Faro, but if you want to relax and just enjoy the pool and playing pool, then it’s perfect.
If you are lucky enough to find this little treasure, you’re lucky enough. The surprise lodging of my trip. When I rang the bell at the front door I wasn’t sure I was at the right place - then I walked inside and the world changed. History, class, comfort and service, all at a very affordable price.
All in all a charming old house but way to dirty, a not well kept. The double bed is only 140cm and that is simply too small (unless you are twenty and really in love). The city it self has little to offer.
Nous tenons à souligner l'exceptionnel accueil de la dame à la réception qui nous a fait visiter les lieux, nous expliquant l'origine du bâtiment. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison, comme elle le souhaitait.
Casa de Estoi is a hidden gem and the town itself is charming, quiet and picturesque. I stayed in the Jasmim room and it was beautiful with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom with a nice hot shower. The bar is in the former wine cellar and you serve yourself on the honor system. Breakfast is on the patio, delicious with a variety of choices. The Roman ruins are worth a look--I did not get to the Palace of Estoi. I am so glad I chose this off the path retreat for a taste of Portugal's past. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend especially if you're tired of the bustle of the more touristy areas and want a genuine experience.
My brother and I were made to feel so incredibly welcome by Catarina at the hotel. She was so wonderfully attentive to the need of each guest and always on hand for any issue or questions we had about the local area. We would recommend Casa de Estoi for the impeccable service alone
We loved our stay at Casa de Estoi. Katrina, the manager, is a wonderful woman, who took such good care of us. The mansion is gorgeous, beautiful antiques and very comfortable. It is centrally located in the village, and easy to walk to shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was very nice, fresh hot pastries, great bread and fresh fruit.
We would definitely recommend this B&B for a wonderful relaxing visit.
Hieno Hotelli ja erittäin hyvä palvelu. Vanha arvotalo kirkon vieressä kunnostettu hotelliksi. Talon emäntä erittäin ystävällinen ja avulias. Suosittelen!
Casa de Estoi was a true gem, and Catherine, the fantastic host, made our stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend this small hotel, and hope to return some day.
Why stay at a standard hotel when you can stay at a great old building with character? Was met at the door by the property manager with an almond aperitif. A quick tour of the house, which is a converted mansion owned by a former Mayor of the town. Has a free billiards table, bar (honor system), small pool, both inside and outside dining, and common areas. Wi-Fi on-site, parking across the street at the church lot. Included breakfast was cheese/meat (Brie & prosciutto), fresh OJ, coffee, cereal, pastries, and homemade cakes. Service was personable and warm and you could tell they really wanted to make your stay the best. Definitely would recommend :)
En spännande byggnad med mycket historia som kunde användas som ett ”eget hem” och med en mycket trevlig värdinna som hjälpte till med allt. Bra frukost som serverades ute.
Parkering ut med sidogata utan problem - centralt läge i Estoi.
Charming and historic house, with exceptional host
Wonderful old building. No on-site parking but parking on street close by was easy.
Catarina met us and showed us round after a welcome complimentary drink. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she explained the history of the place as we walked round.
Our room was good and decorated in the way you’d expect for such a historic building. The bed, however, was not the most comfortable.
Breakfast, taken in the converted stables, was basic but perfectly adequate. Didn’t need the fresh orange juice to be watered down though.
There was an honesty bar where you helped yourself and noted on a sheet against your room name what you had taken. Not an idea that would take off in the more touristy hotels of the Algarve methinks!!
Hotel had a small pool outside, but this looked more ornamental than functional, and far too cold in November anyway.
Overall, an excellent one night stay en route inland, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers.
Welcomed by Caterina a delightful host Shown around the extensive property (honesty box for the bar/pool table: large comfortable lounge/pool etc. Slept well strong pressure shower then great breakfast and relax by the private sun kissed pool eating home-made coconut cake + coffee
Wish we’d stayed more nights as great for visiting Faro and nearby area. G Smith
The welcome was very warm & friendly, lovely restored building, rooms comfortable but don’t expect 5* luxury as it is an old building with authentic furniture. Nice pool area. Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean. Small village outside of faro, it has a couple of bars and cafes but it is a quiet village.
