Excellent service and food. The room was a bit smaller than expected, definitely not the 28sqm advertised. Overall a great stay, staff could not have been more helpful.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This property is not as it appears in its marketing.
Good looking from outside but inside is disappointing. I had a shoddily furnished room with a very tired - bathroom -even cracked windows .Did not realise they aim at dog owners , of which the lounge was full of.

Wedding accommodation
Pros: comfy bed, friendly staff, quirky furnishings
Cons: poor ventilation in kitchen so everything smelled of frying/cooking, even clothes and hair. Food okay, room a bit tired, especially bathroom, although some looked lovely
Great location , staff fairly friendly and bar food good. Rooms and hotel a bit tired looking and seemed generally a bit shabby especially for the cost.

A three star experience
Location in Dunkeld is good and beer garden located by the river is a definite plus point for this hotel. However, I would not rate the hotel as 4 star and would suggest 3 star fits the bill. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished but the value of our twin bed room was £242 for one night and I didn't feel this was value for money. Other parts of the hotel a bit tired looking with lots of creaky flooring.
Staff all very friendly and helpful and food was good but again not excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our visit but to be honest, would probably not return...
The hotel is in a great position. Dunkeld is delightful. Sadly I realised when we arrived that I could have got a much better deal by booking direct. Assumed it would be better via Expedia. The toast was AWFUL. Why don't hotels use toast racks which keep the toast crisp. Ghastly soggy toast like eating a towel.....
Dog Friendly....well, only if they make money by it. £15 per day per DOG charge on top of your room charge if you take a dog there. Yes, you can choose to have your breakfast in a corner table with two other tables and have your dog with you. Yes, you get a twee ''doggy welcome'' pack with a fleece, towel, bowl and feeding mat. Arghhh, what doggy person goes away without a bowl and towel etc. Instead of the lip service doggy sweet extras, how about putting the money toward a safe dog area to run them and let them off lead? I am still waiting for the explanation as to what you need to do extra for two or three dogs than one to deserve a 100% or larger increase in cost per day for extra dogs. Personally, I'd give this hotel a miss in the future and find a hotel via Dog Friendly or similar. Run by dog folk for dog folk, not for profit but for convenience. We shouldn't be the profit margin for mediocre hotels, rather the consistent patronage for genuinely dog friendly travel destinations.

The property looked nice from the outside and the lobby is nice but we were disappointed when we got to our room. The room and furniture are quite outdated. Very dog-friendly hotel.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Desk and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

The hotel room was fine for somewhere to sleep, however it was quite dated in style. The room was noisy with a water pipe running through it, and also a lot of passing footfall in the hallway. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel as it seemed overpriced at £15pp.
Lovely hotel and room was exceptional for the price, nice to see a “pet friendly” hotel actually made the effort for the pet too not just sticking you in the worst room in the building, highly recommend
2 nights mid week break. Every member off staff we met were welcoming happy and accommodating. Have a look at the attention to detail of the decor it is amazing. Food was excellent and great with intolerances I had. Having a drink down at the river bank was extra special.
We found this hotel to be very well kept up for a charming, older property. Lots of character in the lobby and the rooms (in a good way), but also extremely clean and well maintained. They also have a very nice restaurant which we enjoyed with great food. Such a charming town - wish we had the opportunity to stay longer.
We chose this as a dog friendly hotel on our journey to the Highlands and Islands. We were delighted by the friendly service and the size and quality of our room. Dunkeld is a pretty town too.
we’ve had another fantastic stay here! we were given a room upgrade to the suite and it was lovely, couldn’t fault it at all! staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, and our dog was made very welcome in all areas. thank you!
A perfectly lovely hotel in a picturesque location, handy for the A9. Tasteful décor, clean en-suite room, a good shower and very comfy bed. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very tasty.
