The site is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly. I would suggest to upgrade their bathrooms but otherwise the 2 floor cottage we had was great for our family of 4.
Best location in Colca Canyon to see the Andean condors. Staff, facilities were superb with a nice spa and hot tubs. The general area is rustic, and there is really only one good road into Colca Canyon from either Puno or Arequipa. It's a high-altitude area, so be prepared to be impacted if you plan to engage in any physical activities.
Great hotel, stunning location. Very nice lodges. The hot springs are wonderful. Good food and very friendly staff. Ideal for visiting Colca Canyon and relaxing on the beautiful mountains!
Nice resort in a picturesque surrounding. Friendly stuff, clean and attractive rooms. Bar service is spotty, one needs to call for attention to be served and even then nobody comes. They are not approaching guests promptly and seem to be disinterested in serving and greeting customers. Other service was good and prompt.
For breakfast I ordered a box to go and it was very poor - a little bun with 2 thin slices of cheese and a simple cake. They could do a better job.
Otherwise, the room and bathroom were very large and in good condition The balcony was charming with a beautiful view of the compound and surrounding mountains.
The bed was huge and wide but a bit too short so I felt like my feet were hanging out of it.
The restaurant service was impeccable and the food excellent with Peruvian specialties.
I stayed for two nights to see the Colca Canyon and drive around so I did not use the spa and hot springs baths which were readily available.
A pleasant stay high in the Andes.
Beautiful and peaceful property with hot springs on property. My kids loved the llama farm and the hot springs. Nice kept very comfortable rooms perfect for families
Beautiful resort. Fun to walk around, beautiful views and Great rooms. The thermal baths were definitely a great thing to visit on the resort. A bit far, so eating options are limited but the restaurant is very good. I recommend this as part of your journey to the Colca Canyon
We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff, room, pools and dining was all exceptional with a caring attention to detail. We were only able to stay the one night and wish we could have stayed a second as we enjoyed it so much.
Colca Lodge Spa and Hot Springs is located next to the Colca River. The grounds of the resort are meticulously kept and the hot springs are wonderful. The food is the restaurants is excellent, reasonably price and the service was very good. They have a small llama ranch on the property that you can tour. Overall, the lodge is great place to relax or book various activities that are found in the region.
Love my two day at Colca Lodge. The scenery and ambiance are spectacular. I enjoyed the hot springs, short hike to the alpaca farm and the exhibits explaining condor/raptor habitat in Colca and how the alpaca fleece is harvested. The scenery is pastoral and relaxing. The hotel staff are top notch, friendly and helpful.
Lovely property in an amazing location. The hot springs, the spa/pool area with views, the onsen… the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The room was of a good size with a very big bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, although it could do with an update, specially the furniture. I would say the weakest part was the breakfast but dinner was ok (I recommend choosing the small restaurant area, it’s much nicer). Overall, good value and a great choice for the area
Colca lodge was gorgeous, the grounds were beautiful and the room was spacious. The hot springs were perfect and the we had a very relaxing time. The only negative was that the room was not as clean as we would have liked. The staff were very sweet.
A nice ce relaxing break before seeing the Condors the next morning.
This is possibly the best Hotel in the area but it didn't feel snooty or superior. Just good friendly staff and good service.
Had a relaxing dip in the spa - which also has its own bar.
Evening dinner was great and reasonably priced.
Would recomend
Very beautiful location and well cared for hotel (both the buildings and the grounds). The hot spring pools were wonderful and a highlight of the visit - better than most of the onsens we've been to in Japan! The breakfast (included in the room price) was the best of any of the hotels we stayed at in Peru, and the dinner was also fine. We would not hesitate to return to this location again, and would probably stay 3 nights and skip the Cruz de Condor day trip - instead just relax at the hotel, and walk up to the nearby Uyo Uyo ruins.
This is a beautiful property - the pictures do not do it justice. We loved the view from our room and enjoyed the oversized bathroom with double sinks. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the convenience of the on-site restaurant just steps away. We enjoyed our meals there and the staff were very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the ricotto relleno. We loved visiting the alpacas and really loved the onsen experience (we reserved in advance.) We took advantage of the hot spring pools also and really enjoyed it.
Grounds were amazing with hot pools, alpacas and info about alpacas and condors, river crossing, walks around the property. We borrowed fishing rod and tried trout fishing. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. We have also enjoyed the dinner and drinks at the bar with a great service. Room was nice and clean with a heater. Wish we could stay longer.
The grounds of this hotel are exceptional along with the beautiful hot springs! The reception staff are stiff and snobby unlike the restaurant staff who are warm and kind. The restaurant was attractive, but the food was rather dull, which was especially noticeable in this country full of exceptional restaurants. It is a very clean resort.
We rented a car and drive here from Arequipa airport for the weekend. Words cannot describe the amazing weekend my friends and I had. The spa, the views, the thermal waters, etc. you have to experience it for yourself. I will definitely be retuning!
Colca Lodge was very well presented, staff were excellent and our room was more than adequate.
Room was cold when we arrived. The under floor heating was switched on, but I'm not sure it was working. We were given an oil filled radiator which did the job.
Our junior suite was a good size, although a bit too open plan in the toilet area!
Plenty hot water and good shower.
Hot springs were just that, a great way to relax. Food was well cooked and service was fast. Menu was a little limited considering what you pay to stay at the lodge.
Nice walks in the area and close to ancient Inca sites.
This property is amazing and a little oasis of comfort. It’s clean and comfortable with good food. If your looking for therapeutic hot springs though this is not the place. The hot springs are kept at a warm temperature for people to hang out and drink. The minerals are low because of so much dilution. They have the resources for hot pools. There are boiling springs across the river and hotter one feeding the other 3. They have a full bar by the pools and it’s set up like a hot pool. I love hot springs and most enjoy therapeutic ones, you would be sick if you drank in therapeutic pools. I was let down by this fact so wanted to post this for those that go to hot springs.
The hotel is beautiful and one of our favorite places in Peru so far. The hot springs were wonderful, the room was spacious and very clean (a little cold despite the heater and beds are very soft). The restaurant was ok, not great (I had to send back my order because instead of "grilled", my food was raw but they redid it and it was better). The staff was welcoming. However, I tried to book a massage at the spa and either there was no one to take bookings or they said it was too late (even though the spa officially closed 4h later...). Also, when my friend asked if we could change his welcome drink to a coffee, they said no, which is not a very client-friendly attitude.
Finally, the sister tour company is not good. They quote higher hotel prices than on the web and just put you on a random group tour. I'm not sure what company we ended up with but the second guide was not good - he was so late on day 1 that we stayed with the first guide and on day 2 he made many claims about the area that were inaccurate and was quite dismissive about the Incas (I'm not sure a biased guide is optimal) and the tour stops at many areas that have no purpose other than to get you to buy things. It's really a shame because the hotel itself was wonderful.
