About this property

The Eyrie at Brantwood, grand apartment with stunning lake views

  • The Eyrie is an exclusive apartment situated on the upper floor of the magnificent Brantwood, on the shores of Coniston Water. Brantwood is a historic house which was once the home of John Ruskin, a famous Victorian writer, artist and social reformer, parts of which are now open as a museum showcasing Ruskin’s life and work.

Guests at The Eyrie have the privilege of unrivalled views from each of its grand rooms, including from the exquisite lantern window, where you can gaze the length of Coniston Water and enjoy simply breath-taking views across the lake to Coniston Old Man and the surrounding fells.

This outstanding apartment for two guests offers incredibly spacious accommodation including an elegant sitting room with a magnificent vista, a sumptuous double bedroom with more outstanding views and a generous kitchen dining room for cheerful breakfasts and romantic dinners with a view.

Guests at The Eyrie have free access to Brantwood House and its beautiful gardens and lake shore for the duration of their stay. Step outside and you'll discover footpaths, cycle ways and the beautiful shore of Coniston Water. Dip your toes in the lake, launch a canoe or hop on a cruise to Coniston village - the opportunities to explore from The Eyrie are endless.

Within Brantwood’s sprawling grounds you’ll find a cafe, extensive gardens, woodland trails and, of course, access to the lake. And wherever you are in The Eyrie or in the grounds, you can enjoy simply breath-taking views of Coniston Water and Lake District mountains beyond.

And after Brantwood House closes to the public at 4pm, guests have the spectacular gardens and grounds to themselves - a truly special privilege and one which will ensure your stay at The Eyrie provides memories to treasure forever.
