  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Irish Fest visit

Previously there was a mini fridge in the room but the rooms no longer have those included, tv was kind of fuzzy but it was a really good stay overall, no loud neighbors, great stay

The customer service was great. I had a emergency situation at my house had to relocate for a few days. Stress free check in and very helpful. Lots of restaurants in the area. Room was a little outdated but clean. House keeper was very nice also .Will stay again in the future.

Was nice to be in a hotel right off the highway. It was more quiet than I was expecting. The maid service did not come for 2 days in a row so I had to ask for extra soap. They people who work there are nice. There are some things in the area that are convenient during tracking.

There was no refrigerator and microwave, needs improvement and after paying through you, they will still ask for a deposit of $50, which you never told me, this will be refunded the next 3 working days. So am waiting. After that I will give details comment about that.

The staff was very unfriendly web site said pet friend told us if they see our pet they were gonna check us out. Also requested no room service constant knocking for room service ridiculous made my stay very un easy I paid over 500 Dollars to be harrassed

This is the worst place. Cigarette burns on counters, tub and sinks. Bathroom floor was nasty and broken up. Used condoms and trash in the parking lot. Carpet had burn marks and looked filthy. I would not walk anywhere without shoes on. Shower nozzle was so low i could not stand under the shower. No microwave or fridge. Cracks around doors and windows. Toilet seat was so low, hard to get up and down. Internet was poor and tv was outdated and poor quality. I will never stay here again.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

Very run down. Very outdated. AC barely worked. The door was previously broke open and you could tell. We seen the room and wanted a refund to go somewhere else but they offer no refunds for any reason. The floor had soft spots you could almost fall through. The ceiling had clear signs of leaking which was painted over. No extra blankets, no extra sheets, no extra pillows. The tv had 6 channels and was an old old old tv barely 30” screen. All the outlets were old as dirt from the 60’s I would say so everything we plugged in we had to watch to make sure it didn’t fall out. The wifi sucked, better off using your phone or hotspot. Just a terrible run down place. I should’ve known when I seen it was only $54 for a night. No basic amenities of any kind and no Continental breakfast like was advertised.
