Great hostel in Old Town! Old Town is a medieval village with no cars. Get lost in the alleys, take pics and drink wine! The hostel is in a courtyard with a bar/restaurant. Great location in a cute city!

Not bad

Small space but clean. It’s not so convenient for family with child without private bathroom. As it’s for backpackers, this is expected. The environment around is excellent, beautiful countryside views.

Amazing experience

The receptionist was super nice and helpful. The room was clean, and had a small toilet where you could actually close the door. The lockers were also great. Changed how I viewed hostels for sure

Great Hostel

For a Hostel this place was fantastic. We were in a private room with bunk beds and our own bathroom. Room had pull down shelves to use to store things and a table along with two stools. It was a 10 -15 min walk from the Chur main train station. Food was walking distance away. Within the grounds of the hostel was a small restaurant and cafe. Downstairs had beverages. There was a community game room and kitchen.

Unusual hostel - a converted prison with the original prison doors made it a bit of a different experience! The hostel was really clean with all the facilities you need (kitchen, common rooms, wi-fi, etc.). Would have been useful to have some paper towels in the dorm toilet (as no towels provided, fortunately soap was provided). The hostel wasn't far from the train station about a 10 minute walk - but it wasn't easy to find, maybe a couple of signs need to be added in the streets! Loved that it was in Chur old town.

This hostel was a fun place to stay while visiting Chur. They’ve done an excellent job renovating the old prison and everything is very new. It was a quirky stay. The rooms are pretty small, but that’s to be expected, they used to be jail cells.

Reception staffs are really nice! Especially, a woman who accepted for me, I think she is the best. Sooo nice smile and kind, she made good atmosphere to ask naturally. I had a lot of trips, but I like her the most as a receptionist (I hope she will read this review.) Any way, thank you!

Do not stay here if you want a decent night sleep

Stayed for 3 nights only managed a decent night sleep on the last night. The hostel is not staffed at night so large groups free to make noise until the early hours of the morning. According to the unsympathetic staff we should expect this if we book a hostel! Well sorry for in excess of £100 a night this is unacceptable.

Beautifully maintained quirky conversion. The staff were very informative and friendly.Its within easy reach of the cable car, the old town and the railway station. Would definitely recommend for the experience.

Det var ett intressant ställe att bo på. Det var en väldigt bra plats, chur är en bra stad! Förstod inte att det har historiskt varit ett fängelse tidigare, så det var lite av ett tema. Så det var roligt. Det är enkelt att ta sig med buss ut till Reine för en fin promenad i naturen. Otroligt fin byggnad och omgivning!

Jolie auberge bien rénovée

Jolie auberge, les chambres sont très bien rénovées et on apprécie l'histoire de cette ancienne prison. Dommage que le bar/restaurant soit fermé le soir où on voulait en profiter (sans que l'on en soit avertis). Nous sommes tombés sur une colonie d'enfants, très bruyants, aucune réaction de la part du staff.
